3 on 3 is awesome. The SO they should get rid of and make 3 on 3 8 minutes instead of 5
- Vukota

3 on 3 is better than the SO. I just rather go back to the old rules.

Bailey is frustrating, because, as UIF, cpt and others have said/suggested, he can make a good play or plays during a game, and then give the puck away at a crucial time. I actually think he has improved somewhat in the sense that, while he's never going to be a physical player, his "battle level" seems higher under Barry than I've ever seen it before. It's as if he has to unlearn a lot of bad habits he developed under previous coaches. The process has begun, but it's far from completed.

I just think the Isles need better two way forwards who can still add something when not scoring. Good thing about MDc, he still plays solid D even if his numbers are not great yet.

Feels like he is 30 years old. I like MDC with Nelson. Would like to have a better RW than Bailey though.

Agreed...they're either making short passes to each other on a direct path to the net, or Dal Colle is digging pucks out along the boards for Nelson (and doing it better than probably anyone expected).

MDC is playing a smart and solid game. He continues to do this and the offense will come. He may never be a big time scorer but a very useful player.

His skating still has a ways to go, also. He's a lot better from the public-skating-falling-guy gif, but there's still a lot of room for improvement. As that gets better, he'll probably get more chances to show off some of his skill.

Worse than Sam and Joe? I just had to turn it off when Joe started to talk about how "the Rangers are a team that never quits...." in his usual whiny voice.

They call all of the jackets by their first name......

Atkinson comes down the ice, cam cuts to the middle and shoots. Great shot by cam.

I gotta say Artemi is the real deal. That snipe he had to tie the game was unreal, he went through two or three players before shooting a laser to uppr left corner. And he's 65% this yr in SO attempts, which sealed the game for CBJ. I think I'd take him over Matt, although a center, was pretty unnoticeable in a game they really needed to win.
EDIT: actually, it was Ryan who tied it, and Artemi put them up 2-1. Nonetheless, Artemi would go a long way in helping our PP and putting way more depth in the top 6. Really hope Lou goes hard for him.

Talent-wise, they're not close. The only reason Duchene's name keeps coming up, is because of the Isles' need for depth at C. I'd much rather see Lou sign Panarin.

I rather the Isles sign Nelson and bring in Panarin. I just have a bad feeling Isles will miss on both and Lou will really need to get creative.

That sounds good to me, although I (and probably Lou) want to see how Nelson performs in this year's playoffs. Previously, he has been something less than a stand out in the playoffs....... career 18 playoff games: 3 goals, 4 assists, -5.

These playoffs will really be a good guide for Lou in terms of what the team needs. Nelson and Bailey will hear it if they do not play well in the playoffs. This is not Garth and Cappy anymore and just making the playoffs is enough. I have more faith in Nelson playing better now in the playoffs with Barry coaching. I'm not expecting much from Bailey. Tight checking playoffs just does not work for Bailey.

I was remembering Bailey as a strong playoff player, but looked up his stats and it was the 14-15 season where he had 5 pts in 7 games. I think that's what I was remembering. 15-16 season he only had 3 pts in 9 games. If he can get back to the 14-15 level I think we'd all be happy with that. I agree, this is going to be a great time to review what we really have in our team.

Even if the Isles are not expected to win a Cup this year, this offseason is huge foe Lou and the team. Isles cannot waste Barzal's prime years like they did with JT. Isles need to be active and really improve the forwards. D is in good shape and goalie especially if Sorokin comes over.

No doubt. To me this is bonus time. I had them written off in Sept, glad I was wrong. I really underestimated Trotz and the ability of the players to come together. I think these guys will play with a chip on their shoulder and maybe even take a round or two. Can't wait until Weds!!

I'm really looking forward to the playoffs and it's been a fine season no matter what happens. It's just very important Lou gets the offseason right no matter what happens in the playoffs.
