I think its funny that in Gillis' first news conference as gm, he said the Sedins weren't first line players and he was going to go out and get first line players. bold moves were ahead. - hillbillydeluxe

Yup he walked on board and said he was going to change things and by the time July first rolled around and no good free agents were left he back peddled and kissed their ass then.

i'd be okay with us at 8th, could you imagine us actually moving up for once? - VanHockeyGuy
I really really like Tomasino... Everything depends on where we’re picking & who’s falling. If Boldy is still on the board & our pick is approaching, I’d inquire about the cost to trade up. Wouldn’t be desperate to do so though.

I’ve been going through a blues phase for like 30 years now. But it’s allowed me to still enjoy all genres of music because a touch of blues can really add depth to a song.
Especially country and folk music. Some of my favourite musicians are country-blues like Taj Mahal, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells. - bloatedmosquito
All great artists, I also like blues country, Chris Stapleton comes to mind.
Now there’s an interesting music subject; the Who.
Maybe we shouldn’t get into it now but it’s a question I love to ask; the Who’s place in rock’s pantheon?
I know humongous has an opinion... - bloatedmosquito
I'm biased, they are one of my favourite rock bands. I saw their first farewll tour in '82 in Seattle with The Clash opening up for them. Saw 4-5 more farewll tours after that.
I love a lot of Townshend's solo work as well even if he is a miserable c*nt these days.

I was also at the 82 show in Seattle, did you see the show in Van after Townshend hurt his hand in Seattle?
Gillis was easily the best gm weve ever had. Had the guts to make moves. We were a dan hamhuis injury away from winning the cup imo. He got results. I remember when we got Booth it was like who the heck is gonna beat this team. Now both ended up sucking but at the time that was a great move. Bad drafting and messing up the goalie thing led to his demise imo - Jkuzzi
There were things that he did well. One of the biggest issues with his trades was most gms refused to deal with him due to his player agent days ...pretty much only team he could trade with was Florida. Really limited him
Yup. His hand was wrapped up like a boxer. - Marwood
We've probably been to the same 4 Who shows.
Edit: I remember going to the 82 show and waiting at the boarder there was a station wagon full of Nuns next to us, my drunk buddy says to them "we're going to see the Who are you going to see the who?" and he looked like Charlie Manson, good old road trip memories

My buddies rented a bus, 33 of us from high school stuffing mushrooms into our mouths before we cross the border. Good times!
The fall of Gillis empire was entertaining fir non canucks fans ...you all got sad and hated the canucks ...probably got boring for most of the trolls - Redmile247
Team Defend Gillis became team Hate Benning and vice versa.
