Or what would it take to get a guy like Miller out of Tampa? Maybe they’d feel like they could get more out of Chychrun than we have. They need a RD with term. We would be somewhat selling low but they could use another cost controlled guy up front. Maybe Chychrun, Fischer, and a pick for Miller. Or maybe we do 2 for 2 and we take Callahan for his last season.

The guys are raving about Hayton but I’d rather have a sure thing. Who knows how Tocchet would use Hayton... lol

- WSCTeton17

Forget about Miller. Many NYR fans thought he would explode in Tampa and get 70 pts. He played well for first few weeks with top line last year, than nothing in playoffs. Same thing sfain this year. Very streaky and retarded in dzone at times

Great new content Tanner. You definitely have never touched on all of these subjects multiple times.

It’s the self centered part of internet culture. Have one viewpoint, ideally controversial, hammer on it as often as you can and attract as much attention as you can. This is not the blog to read for measured and informed commentary or conversation.

It’s really the type of thing that stems from relative anonymity of the internet that allows a blogger like Tanner can say whatever he wants from his computer because he knows he will never have to be face to face with Tocchet. If he was a reporter covering the team he would have to actually see Tocchet regulary so he would speak in a more respectful way and not just talk crap about him all the time.

Tanner doesn't watch the team he covers on this site and it shows. There isn't an abundance of finishing talent on this team.. they don't even have a 50 point player, but came within two wins of making the playoffs off a injury depleted roster. They managed this by playing fairly low event defensive hockey. Normally I'd credit that to coaching. What do I know though? Watching hockey is for old people.

I know what ya did there...

Now that Yotes season is over we can look forward to more blogs by Tanner covering:

* The BEST songs of the year.

* The BEST band of all time.

* The team that wins the Stanley Cup was lucky

* Renting is better than owning, Part 2
And much much more. 👍

I can't believe the "worst team in the league" is being allowed to compete in the playoffs and the league is allowing them to have home ice as well....crazy

If only Tocchet listened to Tanner and used Galchenyuk at center. Hopefully all of the voters for coach of the year will take heed of Tanner's insight and Tocchet doesn't get any votes!

Wasn’t this a top 5 talent wise team at the start of the year ? Good call on your part Tanner.

This was just like a full blown PMS of a blog, right? I’ve met a number of guys on the squad and bought season tickets for next year. It would be nice to have an online spot to go back and forth and discuss the draft, potential trade targets, potential free agents to pick up, etc etc but it’s clear that won’t happen here. It’s unfortunate because this is supposed to be that platform, isn’t it?

Suggesting Chucky playing center is one thing, backing it up with WHY you think it might be a good idea would be nice.

Trading Kuemper? There are 62 goalie positions in the NHL. There aren’t enough to go around. That is the nature of the new NHL. Pickard hasn’t been good this year. So if you trade Kuemper you’re either betting on Hill (surprise surprise you made no mention of him in the blog) or you need to replace Kuemper. It’s kind of a saturated goalie market this offseason with guys like Bob, Lehner, Mrazek, McElhinney, Varlamov and plenty of bounce back candidates like Elliott, Talbot, Nilsson, Ward (not, jk haha). If SJ doesn’t get results then they might make Jones available - so who is going to pony up for Kuemper? And who do we replace him with?

Tocchet may be a bad coach but you also could’ve provided a lot more context. Goaltending isn’t the only reason why the PK is good. Personnel is part of the problem for the PP, last time I checked it’s the GMs job to put the right pieces in place. I don’t like the PP units but I never really see you talk about how to maximize them.

I don’t agree with Pens blogger Ryan Wilson on everything, but how he supports his opinions is highly appreciated. I’m going to keep reading, Tanner. Hopefully you’ll provide some good insight through the offseason. Something id like to float ideas on is adding a top 6 forward vs letting Hayton seize it, who should be traded from our glut on the backend, how to fix the PP, projections for Schmaltz, if you want to talk about trading Kuemper then it would be cool if you provided what teams might target him and what we might get AND how we’d replace him. Just something to think about I guess

And Tocchet was a tough heavy hitting player. Just the kind of player that Tanner hates. So for that reason, he'll never be a good coach. He reminds Tanner too much of the guys that used to stuff him into his locker in high school.

No you won't. That would require research and effort on your part, something you're clearly not very good at. Instead you'll continue to be the male version of AOC, screeching moronic, nonsensical ideas like it's the most revolutionary Insight ever.

I really don't know what motivates you to do this. You're not very good at it. I can't decide if you make these idiotic statements just for theatrical effect or if you truly believe the garbage that you excrete. Your statements about owning a home vs renting are a perfect example. Either way, you are part of the problem and will never be a part of the solution.

Wow! Spot on. Tanner does identify as a Communist, just ask him. If he says it than it must be true, and if you don't agree, well, then, you're an idiot.

He is motivated by money, like anybody else in a first world country is. The more people read his blog and post in the comments, the more traffic the site gets. The more traffic the site gets, the more money the site can make for advertising. The more money the site has, the more money Tanner can make.

THAT is what he is very good at.

Well, when you keep dumping money into an endless void known as "renting," you gotta count your pennies and nickles...or in his case, loonies and toonies.
