I don't mind him getting a third pairing defenseman contract $1.5 - $2.5 a season, but his 60 points will command much more than that. As you say I hope he doesn't get it from Chicago. His 60 points also make him easy to trade.

Definitely a first in the next tdl if this point streak continues.

Eddie just called it--he doesn't expect anyone betting that the Preds will come out of the West for the Cup. I think only the Flames or Jets will do it.

Plus the Caggiula slash. I hate the Preds and get pissed when they don't get called every time, but the hawks do just as much stupid stuff that isn't called. It's close to playoffs, where barely anything gets called.

Drake was tripped after the play was dead. I don't mind the slash in that case.

I don't think so, but could always be wrong. Don't think Flower is up to it this year.

I would not be so sure. Preds elevate their game for playoffs and Lavi is very capable coach.
Almost knocked in 2015 Hawks team which was stacked over the cap with Vermette, probably would have won it if Weber did not go down plus some Darling heroics.
In 2016 nothing could have stopped Pens so cannot blame them for losing SCF.

Wild strategically s*** the bed. Looking like they locked up #11.

If the Hawks lose this game, we draft at 12. If we win we draft at 13.

God I hate the Preds. They're the only team I'd like to see win less than the Blues.

44-22 preds vs hawks holding a team to two goals...until that improves kane, cat and toews having a combined 270 plus points is a consolation prize...

Is this the second year in a row Hawks have revenge on Blues last week of regular season?
Last year beating Blues knocked them off in favor of Avs on playoff wildcard race.
This week taking a point from Blues while losing to Jets and Preds took away first place from Blues forcing them into tough matchup against Jets instead of playing inferior Avs or Stars.

That’s a tough one, but because I know more Blues fans personally, I’d have to go the opposite way on it.

I believe the Hawks got the short end of the stick back in the Tommy Lysiak era but none of those guys are around anymore and that bias is long gone. More times than not the aggressive team gets the benefit of the doubt in calls and Nashville is clearly a much more aggressive team than the Hawks. I don't know if that can be attributed to human nature but it's just the way it is. If the Hawks want more favorable calls to go their way - forecheck and play as aggressive as Nashville does.

Definitely not the outcome that I was looking for in that game, especially against a team that I can't stand!

I look forward to what Bowman will do over the summer as he has a lot of team holes to deal with. I expect the hawks will be in playoff contention next season. There were a lot of positives in this season, it wasn't all bad.

I'm going on a very long break. I have a lot of school left to finish, and getting ready to student teach. Coming into this season as the new guy on the board ... I didn't know what to expect. I won't lie, I was nervous. You guys and girls made me feel welcome. Thanks for that! I enjoyed all of the conversations here and the talks through the games. Be safe and enjoy your summers. Slainte!

This is to looking forward to us being back on top again, someday somehow.

But, like I said before, as long as a Wirtz owns this team, there will always be a bias. We do not have access to "official" documents, so even though the Lysiak era officials are gone, things like this have a way to live for generations. The 3 Championships have Bettman wide awake at night, still to this day.

Good luck on the student teaching! I'm on sabbatical for the fall, so I'm looking forward to having a little time for that. Be well!
