No they don't, he's bad coach. He was lost with the Kings and worse with the Blues. He's the Nick Saban of coaching. |

I want a coach who is going to grab this locker room by the balls and squeeze untill they learn how to play hard for 60 minutes. If the players cant understand housleys defensive "system" then he needs to adapt or be shown the door. Player usage plays a big role as well.
Moreover I want botteril to bring in someone, anyone that is a respected veteran throughout the league AND has been a contributor on teams that have won something. Jason williams type of addition perhaps. We literally have none of this besides maybe counting pominville. Sheary isnt what im looking for as he had a cup of coffee in pittsburgh and brings little to nothing when he isnt scoring.
Say what you will about defensive breakdowns but our goaltending after the win streak was well below league average and that simply isnt good enough. Since we will probably have the same two next season then it comes back to getting a coach who will provide competent defensive instruction.
I hate that we are looking for yet another lottery pick, it was alot more fun when they were winning. The hate will rightfully begin to make its way towards ownership if the coach is retained and they find themselves dealing with the same problems next year. They ran the only hockey ops guy they ever hired out of town because they wouldnt let him do his job, dont forget that
edit: housley fired |

I can't say enough how overblown the 'playing hard for 60 minutes' refrain is. I don't think effort is the issue. The issue is having the team play intelligent hockey for an entire game, and not having that 1 to 5 minutes of idiotic play they often seem to exhibit. A big part of that problem is having non hockey savvy players on the roster, such as Risto, Bogo, and Scandella, to name a few.
Their individual and overall team hockey IQ need a serious boost if they want to be a good team for an entire season and beyond. |

Andy Murray now coaching at Western Michigan. Former Head Coach LAKings and STL Blues. Former head coach Team Canada. Multiple times international juniors and college head coach. - Der Kaiser
I'm also thinking it's going to be a younger coach who has no NHL HC experience. Lets hop whoever it is, is a good one. |

May be slightly overblown, however you want to word it. Play hard for 60 at being intelligent then whatever.
Get me a coach that the players would jump off a bridge for, which inevitably translates to the ice. That hasnt been the case whatsoever with housley |

Andy Murray is far from young and bringing up Taylor isn't good idea either. |

Not to defend Housley but Botterill put this team together and the ROR trade was really bad. |

Yes it was. He needs to make up for it
Its too bad they didnt or couldnt bring anyone in to snap that locker room back into shape and get whatever differences set aside for the betterment of the team |

I would think that the sabres job is attractive with the pieces we have here and the pick that's coming... and this offseason is the first year of starting to shed some of this craziness cap |

5th coach in 6 seasons... something tells me it isn't the coach here at the end of the day. I think there has to be some accountability on the roster and the guy who assembled it at the end of the day.
Housley wasn't the guy, and you move on fine, but I think there needs to be some more housekeeping and looking at the roster too here at the end of the day to try and get something done. Want to see Buffalo get back to being a beast of a team, more wars on the ice between rivals is never a bad thing at all! |

This isn't on Eichel, it's about a coach who was in over his head and made bad decisions with handling players and his goalies. Players should be held accountable also but this is on Housely and Botterill IMO. |

my questions with that center around how much ownership wanted him gone after those "lost love" comments plus how much his contract had a hand in the return |

We are stuck with certain players that's why the coach needs to have discipline and be accountable for his action and decisions. |

Botterill's number one job has been getting their long term cap situation cleaned up and getting them cap space going forward, of which he has done a remarkable job. |

....In Two to Three more years......(Suckers) Jesus H. Christ cant fix this. The obvious choice is "Q", but he AINT coming to Buffalo. They will hire some shrill who has NEVER won anywhere, or better yet, another "Retred" former Saber who also.....has won nothing. $hit is screwed, glad I burned my jersey with the winter leaves. Its fun to watch you idiots clamor about though. |
