I found it extremely funny yesterday when Benning was talking about injuries and he said the team needs to play in the other end more and less shot blocking.

It really speaks to how much we all hate Toronto that we're openly cheering for Boston
- NorthNuck

meh, i don't like TOR fans more than I don't like the leafs as a team, and I am sure they would say the same about us lol.

I honestly just think their defense is complete sh*t, and BOS is going to demolish them in 4. Leafs continue to roll with a stronger forward group and Oreilly being the only solid D man, hard to win with that.

If it’s 3rd, he’ll be sh!tting his pants, not creaming his panties. 3rd overall in this draft is the first chance to take the best player from an absolute mess of 2nd tier prospects. Highest pressure/stakes pick in the lottery.

2oa is the easiest pick ever. No thought involved.

- DrChristianTroy

I think if it’s 3 he’ll try to trade. Either move up to 2, or down to 6-10. The Canucks having so many holes gives him options to use that pick.

you're right, he isn't. Even so, they still suck on the back end and I don't know how they will contain Boston's offense.

I think he stays at 3 and takes Byram. To move up to 2 from 3 would probably cost a lot - especially depending on who gets it.

Byram would make OJ a tradeable asset IMO. WPG won't be able to afford Connor, Laine and Trouba. Maybe something around OJ+ for Connor?

That's true, Boston is definitely the deeper team plus their top line is better and more experienced than TORs top line

Go after Trouba, we need RHD as bad as we need scoring wingers, but there's more quality wingers in free agency

I would inquire on Trouba as well. They may be more willing to move on from Connor though, Buf/Trouba on the right. Do they really have a replacement for him?

I can't see Winnipeg giving up Connor after he has put up multiple 30 goal seasons. I think they try and make something work to keep him and Laine. Trouba seems more likely. Probably OJ+ for Trouba if anything

I sort of hope Van wins 3oa and trades down. As you said it's a mess between 3-10ish. I'd be asking the Rangers in 7-8-9 if they want to part with a 2nd round pick or another first to move up to 3.

Got my eye on a few 2nd round wingers that play with size and speed plus another RHD with the other 2nd

Most likely see Kulikov and Perrault be dealt for scraps. That saves them almost 9 million.

Been checking out your boy, Tomasino, lately, via hi-lites and news clippinģs etc.
I had watched him in a game last season and then forgot all about him, fantastic hockey player

He’s one of a couple reasons I’m not all that worried about the lottery today (don’t get me wrong, I’d love to pick top 2)... but guys will be there at 9/10/11/12 who I like way more than selecting Byram/Podkolzin/Cozens at 3.

Who do you like in the 10-12 range? I’m sort assuming Boldy/ Zegras/ Turcotte and Dach are gone. Not to excited about the D available in that range

I’m sure jets fans would argue Connor>brock

So OJ + would be have to be a big plus

I’m worried about ownership pressure to stay at 3 & select. Especially with a Van Giants star on the board in a hometown draft. Trade back from 3 would be my preference for sure, but doubt there will be much urgency/value unless some team is obsessed with locking in a particular prospect.

Are we feelin' lucky?

It's lottery day, so I've got that setup, plus some notes from Monday's locker cleanout day, in the new blog:

I hate Toronto hockey team and it goes back to the sixties, it took me 4 trips to Toronto before I started to appreciate the city, staying by the harbour was beautiful, staying up by Eaton Centre and I hated it.
