Karine Hains: Going Out on a High Last Saturday night of the season in Montreal, Bob Cole's last ever game and a classic original 6 match-up between the Habs and the Leafs. The game had very little meaning but it sure had a lot of entertainment value!

Surprised there are only 2 posts. Disappointed they didn't make the playoffs but happy to see Habs made great progress. I am looking forward to July 1st to see who they will get from the FA market . Hoping for a forward and a couple of dman

Poor Mete, really thought he was gonna bury that breakaway in OT...

Me too. I'm not too worried about him though, he's improved a lot over the year and is still very young. He'll get his first one eventually.

So, is there a playoffs pool for losers this year?

The real funny part is that Hainsey and Zaitsev are considered top D in Toronto 😂😂😂

... And we played our AHL goalie, and still won. Your point?

Oh, and learn from Obie. *That* is how you troll. That was great, Obie.

I'd take Mete and Kulak over those 2, especially when you start factoring in age and contracts.... and let's not forget that a 20 year old who was playing college hockey 10 days ago single handedly picked them apart

Well, it's not like we're going around acting proud of that.

Yeah but one was playing the biggest game of the his life and it was a meaningless game for Toronto, they were playing mainly to not get injured.

I'm not sure what Mete's chair is going to be. He's not really offensive, he's small and loses alot of battles along the boards. He's an amazing skater and that's what saves him but is that enough to be a top 4?

Actually, given his age, I'm actually really impressed with the play and poise that Mete shows in his game. Sure, his inability to score is becoming almost Scott Gomez like, but that'll come in time.

The Leafs had been playing like crap going into a playoff series that most dont see them surviving, it was a nice tune up game for them, a chance to end on a positive note while gaining some momentum going into the postseason, they had a lot more to play for than a team who knew it was their last game. Toronto cant keep the puck out of their net, no matter if their "top" D Hainsey and Zaitsev are playing or not

And you're right, I'm not sure where Mete will fit in going forward, the goal should be to acquire a true top 4 left D and put Mete on the 2nd pairing with Petry! Either way, I take Mete over Hainsey and Zaitsev any day

You mean they dont count because they were not scored on an NHL caliber goalie?

I'm not sure that's enough motivation for a vet to give the extra effort to stop a 6'2 200 pounds 20 year old workhorse from going to the net
