will they sign a big UFA name this summer?

I say no

- Symba.007

the exciting thing is (if they do sign a ufa) is that it will probably be a forward, since there's no real interesting LD available.
but if they sign a ufa forward, and I mean a top6 forward, that means MB will have to make a significant trade to make some room. they already have plenty of forwards already signed, and Poehling knocking at the door.

so yeah, sign a forward, and trade for a top LD. and a very good one, like #1 good.

And Drouin is going the other way in a trade for that very good #1 D?

The only one he’ll sign is Jordan Weal and you’ll like it

At D, there is only band aids solutions like Bouwmeester, Myers or Chiarot. You also have Stralman who plays right but can jump in on the left side. So yeah, if you want to improve the D it will be via trade or wait for your prospects. I don't see how MB will be able to attract a forward like Panarin. Also, stay away from Douchene.

His value is too low right now. Use him as an offense-minded player instead of turning him into a Danault. He is like Kessel, surround him with talent and live with his mistakes. Problem is, we lack high-end talent...

Kessel has a vicious shot and 7 seasons of 30+ goals under his belt, oh and 2 cups and almost won the MVP one of those 2 times... if Drouin was like Kessel I wouldn't be complaining

I agree... you think the Oilers would view Drouin as a good playmaking linemate for McDavid?

Joe Drouin finished with 53 points 84th in the league which make him a legit top 6 player. He has more points than Gallagher by the way who never left the top 6 and the powerplay.

yep, I think EDM is looking to add some depth to surround their 2 top star players. they don't really have the kind of top LD I'd like MB to acquire though.

And with all that in mind... I'd opt to have 1 Gallagher on my team rather than 2 Drouins

there's absolutely no reason for Drouin to not achieve the same numbers Domi did. no reason what so ever.

Kessels in his first 4 seasons: 29, 37, 60 and 55 pts = 181 pts
Drouin: 32, 53,46 and 53 pts (took out the season he played 21 games) = 184 pts

Isn't it a bit early to give the upper hand to Kessel when things are put in perspective?

Kessel has a better shot, Drouin has better stick handling and playmaking skills. Both are offensive minded, poor on defense and streaky. So yeah, we are complaining to early in his case.
