Islanders can't score goals and aren't particularly good at defending (Excluding Lehner) and the matchup favors Pens, I say Pens in 5.

You guys are sure spending a whole lot of time trying to convince yourselves you have got this one in the bag. People don’t usually find the need to do that when they feel they’re right about something. |

I think no matter which team you're rooting for in this one, we can all root for a grueling 7 game series that ends with the Bolts out down Tampa Bay way.... |

So you're rooting for CBJ? Are you also excited that the Browns got OBJ? |

Listen pittsburgh has always been my second favorite team but let’s be real here. The islanders played the penguins pretty good this year. Everybody has said the islanders are not a team with talent but besides that they fell one point shy of Washington for first place. Do the islanders have issues?? Yes. Do the pens have holes in their team? Yes. Are both teams going to go out there and fight their hardest? Yes. This can go either way no matter what people say |

They certainly didn't do themselves any favors the last month haha. Future looks promising though, no doubt |

As a Xennial Pens fan, I always fear the Islanders in the playoffs.
The difference this year is the Pens performance in March and April. Each time we saw them peak during this time it always resulted in a deep run. This is the only reason for my confidence.
The Islanders are a good team with young talent who basically play the same system as the 90's Dead Puck Devils which is a good recipe for success.
Their biggest weakness is they didn't have anyone score 70 or more points this season and lack of a clear No1 goalie. |

Or we’re just enjoying the wealth of information on the internet and we know that it has hardly any merit in a game that has such random variance in it. |

Also can go either way is not one in the same as saying statistically the pens are more likely to win... |

You're quite dumb. If predictions were almost always wrong all of Vegas oddsmaker would be out of work.
Sports predictions are far more often right than wrong. That is a fact, you cant dispute that. - Guile
Vegas Oddsmaker? Odds are set based on the general public making the bets. The Vegas Oddsmaker you speak of is just some jamokes constantly changing the odds to get an even amount of money bet on each side so the Bookee makes the middle. But you are absolutely right, the favorite is correct more often than not. Whether the favorite is the correct bet at -140 or -160 etc. is the gamble. So while the bets are taken by the bookee, they are set by the general public(gamblers). |
