You think Greiss or Lehner could be a No1 on any other team? - Murphy_Dump
You think a .927 and .930 sv% aren't any good? |

You're quite dumb. If predictions were almost always wrong all of Vegas oddsmaker would be out of work.
Sports predictions are far more often right than wrong. That is a fact, you cant dispute that. - Guile
what the lines of this series though? |

Listen pittsburgh has always been my second favorite team but let’s be real here. The islanders played the penguins pretty good this year. Everybody has said the islanders are not a team with talent but besides that they fell one point shy of Washington for first place. Do the islanders have issues?? Yes. Do the pens have holes in their team? Yes. Are both teams going to go out there and fight their hardest? Yes. This can go either way no matter what people say - kasperrko
You don't make sense. First you say throw the regular season out the window, now you want to use how the Isles played the Pens in the regular season...which is it?
Fact is, more often than not, the higher seed wins. Not all of the time, but most of the time. Like you said, anything can happen in the playoffs (injuries, hot/cold streaks), but that's different than saying that things are likely to happen. In this particular series, even though the Islanders are the higher seed, I think the Penguins matchup against them better, on paper.
I don't think the Isles will roll over and die, and if they can pounce on the Penguins turnovers and capitalize on their counterattacks, plus get spectacular goaltending, they definitely could take the series. But right now, I don't see them making it past Game 6. |

I didn't say that, I said they would not be No1 goalies on any other team. |

Regressing PDO.
This is totally a product of Trotz's system, before this the best season either of them had was Greiss in 15/16 with 2.36 and .925 |

Obviously those sv% are not likely replicated but I don't see why you can't see at least Lehner as being a solid #1 |

And Greiss is a career .915 guy so that is starter material as well. |

Greiss has been a fringe No1 through his career, I think his time as a No1 is past due to his age.
Lehner is too inconsistent for me outside of this one good season, I think he should just sign a contract with whatever team Trotz is coaching and he could turn out to have a decent career, we will see after this season i guess.
I guess my main point is that a good portion of their stats are due to Trotz. He probably could've got similar numbers with Cam Ward as the goalie this year (I'm being facetious of course, Cam Ward is terrible)

Well we have proven everyone wrong so far so I guess let’s see what happens. I like being the under dog no pressure. Pens will have all the pressure in this series which for a team like them shouldn’t be an issue, but the point being made islanders are not as bad as everyone thinks and anything can happen.

But you said the Islanders played the Pens pretty good in the regular season but none of that matters at all? Sooooo... I feel like you’re not smart? Or at the very least you’re indecisive because you can’t figure out if the regular season counts or it doesn’t. |

Weird how you can’t really differentiate between being a bad team and being the best matchup. |

I don't think they're a bad team because the goalie makes up part of the team. However, I think the matchup favors the Penguins. |

I think the matchup is pretty even to be honest. Two great coaches going head to head. Islanders goaltending and Pittsburgh pretty even also defense. Offense edge goes to Pittsburgh but defense and goaltending win championships |

Let’s face if the pens made some trades to of course try to win the cup. Islanders were a team that was supposed be the worst in the league |
