Here's the situation in my book. The season is ended. If you're not convinced right now that the current coach is the right coach, then you should move on and get a new coach. - MJL
I'm not Fletcher but I am not convinced Gordon is the right guy for the job. But like I've said before, I am not sure that guy is available right now. I think they need a coach that they know is in complete control. |

Ok ok jeez. I will not be shamed for wanting TN as the next coach tho. - DrMidnite
Whoever is coaching the Flyers next season probably has a good chance to win the Adams. Hart will likely have a high SV%, and the team under-performed this season badly. |

Of course like with most things, there is another, equally valid way to look at it. Yes, if you are sure your current coach is not the right choice, you demote him or let him go. If he is, in fact a strong candidate, which you think is the right choice. Put it to the test by exploring options, doing your due diligence. The more sure I am of a decision, the more willing I am to listen to other options. It allows you to reflect and clarify the reasons for the decision.

Fletch is holding a full house say Jack high. He has good young players that have the potential to be stars and maybe a superstar out of the bunch.
He has cap space. He has the cards to make trades. A full house is a solid hand but play that hand poorly ie. bad trade/s
Or unwise FA signing and bad coaching hire it can be a loser hand.
My expectations in the off season is to not eff up this team worse than they already are. |

My feeling is if you think you have to explore other options, you don't have the right coach. With the right coach. it is not needed to put it to the test.

I'm puzzled when I read some of the trade offers made on here. It doesn't seem like they're given much thought. What is the reason why the Leafs would be looking to trade Marner? - MJL
It's so much easier to crap on everyone else then to put your original thoughts out there. |

An interesting debate came up last night that I don’t agree with but not the most outrageous thing I’ve heard on this board. Who is more important, Giroux or Couturier. My response is far and away Giroux, it’s not even close. With this said, as important as these players are, my response 24 hours later is neither guy is enough....
I think this team’s success will go as far as the secondary scoring will take them. The focus is now on Nolan Patrick. If you guys want Giroux and Couturier to play together, Nolan Patrick has to anchor the secondary scoring and some day lead the scoring. He’s a second overall pick. Next season he needs to break out. 20 goals, flirt with 45 to 50 points of bust. |

We had our shot. We got Patrick and if he stays healthy he probably won’t be a bust. |
