I’m not as down on Moose Knuckle as some of you are, I think he’s okay, but I’m slightly disappointed Dal Colle’s not getting the game 1 start. He deserves it and, frankly, I think we’re a better team when he’s playing.

Regarding the predictions, let everyone pick the Penguins. This team’s been playing with a chip on their shoulders since October and I’m pretty damn sure Trotz will mention that not one prognosticator has picked them to win this series. 100% sure.

I'd guess the reasoning, beyond just "experience," is that Nelson's line will be getting a tough matchup with either Crosby's or Malkin's line, and Moose is seen as the better defensive player. I get it, but I'd rather see Dal Colle in there as well. I think producing offense from Nelson's line will be one of the most important factors for the Isles' chances in this series, and I believe there's a better chance of getting that offense with Dal Colle and Nelson skating together than with Moose. But, whatever, let's see what Moose can do with the opportunity.

I thought MDC's defensive numbers were better than Moose? MDC should be playing. The Pens winning those Cups had nothing to do with Moose.

I think the conventional wisdom is that a former Penguin like Moose will have extra motivation to prove the Penguins wrong for letting him go. I'd rather see MDC because he's got more upside potential, but maybe Moose will be fired up and play a "heavy game" for us.
