right now, I think Georgiev is a better goalie than Lundqvist
maybe the additions of Kakko, Kravtsov and maybe Panarin will get Hank's motor running again, but it's very close to time for him to get out of the way - jimbro83
If they sign Panarin I don't know if I will make it to opening night |

I was really mad when we picked up points in the last couple of games of the year and moved to 6th. But if we didn't, and finished 5th, we would be picking 7th now.
I have learned my lesson |

Hughes/Kakko
Kravtsov
Panarin
Fox
Maybe a Karlsson?
That is a serious influx of talent in the span of 6 months |

It’s all about karma with this. I don’t believe in that shyt but it feels good knowing they still played hard and it didn’t end hurting them. It actually helped them ironically. |

The team battled and showed an identity and hopefully gelled a bit. (frank) that purposely tanking poop. It would have caused more problems and a worse pick. |

A couple years ago I take Karlsson any day and everyday. The injuries though I think are starting to catch up.
Plus they did a lot to draft and pick up a bunch of young defenseman last year. Forward should be the priority this year |

if they get Fox, they have a poop load of young defensemen on the way, I say just go get Panarin and stick with the youth

They still need another top 6 center imo. But you're right. Kakko and Kravtsov solves a lot of their problems on the wing. |

thats a bummer. Wasnt sure if Georgiev was playing more just against the Penguins when I saw the Rangers or if he was a lot more in general. Penguins have tortured Hank these past few years it seems.
He's a quality dude. I hate seeing really good players stay in the league too long when they've really lost the touch they had a few years earlier. |

Yup. This summer needs to be all about forwards. No more defenseman or goalies named Olaf |

Athletic mock draft with New York taking Kakko second and Hughes going first:
No. 2. New York Rangers
Kaapo Kakko, LW, TPS-Liiga
Feb. 13, 2001 | 6-foot-2 | 190 pounds
Rick Carpiniello: The rebuilding Rangers so badly need top-end talent, and scoring, and Kakko not only brings that, but he brings it with size and probably more pure goal-scoring ability than Hughes. Getting the second pick, and Kakko, also speeds up the process for the Rangers, as Kakko should be an immediate impact player in the NHL, scouts believe.
Pronman’s take: In Kakko, the Rangers get as close to an NHL ready forward as you’ll typically get as a U18 player. Kakko is a highly skilled and competitive winger who will create chances and win battles versus NHL defenders right away. He could step in and be a top-nine, if not a top-six, forward immediately and down the road a star. He’s exactly what their rebuild needed: a true impact prospect they can build around.

I'm sure the Devils are going to let this linger until they actually make the pick, but it sure would be nice if they announced their intentions sooner than later
