Depends on the type of offseason Botts has. Mittelstadt’s development is the biggest wildcard. If he finishes with 45+ points next year this team should be competing for a playoff spot.

Not winning a playoff series for 10 years resulted in the "May day" goal in 1993. Most of the greatest moments come after a long journey sometimes. It will happen again.

Edit: Pommer OT short-hander to knock out Ottawa is another example. They kicked our a$$ all year.

Interesting outcome last night, 3 wins from teams I am not rooting for in Blues, CBus and Sharks.
Not for Sharks in the hope of a higher pick, and CBus since their playing the Bolts, Blues for higher pick as well. CBus is one that hurts the most for me....was hoping torts would get fired and Sabres would hire him.
Oh well

Not sure if it was discussed here, but Botterill spoke with Elliot Friedman about what he was looking for in a new coach. A little funny that he felt enough time had passed that he was able to describe his desired traits.

-command of the room
-more structure defensively
-communicative ability
-accountability

Even the public knew Housley didn't have those traits.

Also:

There's a list of 3 guys they're talking to to fill the roll.
They're going to hold onto the 7th OA, at the very least.
A bunch of teams scouted Risto after the TDL. Hopefully that action picks up this summer.
