Good teams replace good value role players with other good value role players. The bad teams buy high on the ones they let go. - Nucker101
In our case it’s not bad. Building up assets is our priority. The next year or 2 the kids should walk through the door of opportunity. Therin is where we need them to fit in & that’s top 6 & on D. 4th liners get too much attention & if their contracts are a burden that’s for another day not now. |

Roll players grow on trees, it's not what a GM should worry about when there isn't enough talent on the roster. - 1970vintage
We have talent and developing talent.
ROLE players make space and time for our scoring talent which allows them to score goals. More Fo wins. More productive.
We wouldn't have gone to the cup without burrows, torres, lapierre etc.
We have been a better team since getting rousel and schenn |

57 games as Nuck this year.
I think he can provide what we need over 82 then pass judgement. Just me.

It’s not often you sign a free agent where that’s not the case. Most teams have a couple. It’s the guys signed to play at the top of the lineup that really kill you. |

I think most free agent signings are based on what players have done in the past |

What wine goes with that? - A_SteamingLombardi
I mean, what wine doesn't go with that?
I would probably pair with Sancerre from a ripe vintage. Unless you pour syrup all over the waffle, then I would probably go Muscat de Beaumes de Venise |

That's total BS. No roll player made any room for Petey or Boeser to score goals. Quite the opposite. Those guys scored enough goals allowing the role players to slide in for their 10 minutes per night. You know who "protected" the kids? It was freaking Horvat whomplayed the tough minutes. |

No team gets good without role players, that thinking is unrealistic and will not produce. - SMBDragon

That's why those are probably the most traded type of players at the trade deadline. Role players don't grow on trees. Depth players do. There's a difference |

Exactly, good teams add good roll players when the team is ready to compete.
Higgins, Torres, Malholtra, Lapierre, etc. don't move the needle unless you have a core. Pens and Hawks did the same thing. - belcherbd
Hard to get and keep a decent core if you have to always trade for those players. That starts with bad drafting and not being proactive when an opportunity presents itself |

I’d be surprised if he hits 30 goals in his entire Canuck career.
Edit:
Never mind, he already has more than that. What a great signing. |

Then it's time to trade him, give him his July 1st bonus cheque and send him packing. |

Sure, Horvat is part of it too. Strong forwards draw attention to them making space
ROLE players are needed. Shutting down opposing forwards wins.
Im not gonna waste my time arguing this, believe whatever you want |

If JV could only score more he’d be a good 3rd wheel to shadow ops scorers. |
