Reading over the comments . We don't want free agents, and I agree with this one. We don't want trades for a RHD . We want to pick Boldy or Zegras with our picks and we don't want Lassi.
In that case Welcome back Alex Biega. - VANTEL

I don’t think people realize how poor Foote’s team is. The Kelowna Rockets have scored fewer goals this season than Peyton Krebs’ Kootenay Ice. Despite this, Foote is a more productive producer of primary points than Krebs. |

Is he going to coach or GM? I like him as a coach. He had Edmonton playing well before he was let go for Eakins. |

do you know what his tenure was like at the soccer team?
i'm curious to know how he shaped the club after he took over as chairman.
did he make drastic changes or did he gently mold over time what he was given?
intriguing person no doubt. ottawa seems more likely, i agree.

he's been driving that bus all year so i totally agree with the sentiment.
...but, why would he sign an OS? he'll get paid in TO. he's a star on a young team that is emerging as a contender (in the next few years). he's surrounded by other "superstars" so he doesn't have to be the man every game which helps with the media.
even if he was to be offered a mil or two more per season than what he'll get in toronto, i have a hard time believing he'd sign anywhere else. |

offer sheeting marner is a no go as the leafs won't let him go.
trading for matthews would be easier since he's expendable now.
jake, oj + this year's first should get the negotiation started. might have to throw in a couple more pieces. maybe another second or the 2024 first rounder. |

That's why those are probably the most traded type of players at the trade deadline. Role players don't grow on trees. Depth players do. There's a difference - manvanfan
Don't be silly. Roll players, depth players, you're splitting hairs now.
Roll players get traded because those are the ones who are available. Bo Horvat didn't get traded because he isn't a roll player? This season we saw three "star" players get dealt, all on expiring contracts, all from the same team.
Depth players? Ok, I'll bite. You mean guys on two way deals or ELC's who haven't proved they belong in the NHL yet? July puts forth a bounty of those guys. |

More realistically, I 100% would like to see Benning OS Johnsson. We can afford to offer 4 mil to him and I think a 2nd is a reasonable price |

I hope they advance past the bruins. I think it will make for a more entertaining 2nd round. As much as I dislike the Leaf media hype I won't cheer for the Bruins.
I also would love to see Thornton Marleau SCF. - belcherbd
This is even worse than Lefty declaring he likes Trump and thinks he's doing a great job.

I'd definitely be on board with that, but would prefer to OS Kapanen |
