We did the family pool last night.

Me, Mrs. Wedgie, the two little Wedgies and the dog.

Dog's picks were recorded according to which hand she picked - a piece of kibble in each.

I swear to goodness, the dog picked the Leafs to win the Stanley Cup. And my daughter administered the picks, which I watched - there was no cheating. The dog picked the Leafs. Funniest bit was there was hesitation in the second round - she couldn't decide between the Leafs and Bolts. She's a Labrador, so there really shouldn't have been hesitation if food was involved.

My picks were largely based on numerical analysis and game style. For instance, I picked Carolina because with their style of play, they should outchance Washington by a decent margin. But Washington has much better finishers and doesn't have a backup as their goalie.

I figured if I was going to go with that for my picks, I wouldn't forgive the Leafs the -.15 gpg differential (the only one smaller was St. Louis / Winnipeg) despite what my heart said.

Honest to goodness, my suspicion at the time was they wanted to come out with a jersey in the exact same colour as the seats - because the Bruins were poop at the time, and they wanted to hide the fact that seats were empty.

I'm pretty sure that's why the seats now alternate between black and gold. Because when we sucked the black chairs at least gave the semblance of someone sitting there. God were they terrible for a while then.
