There was a lot of very encouraging play. It was one game, though, and they need to keep it up. Boston will be tighter in their gap control in game 2 as well.
I am surprised at the praise for Zaitsev. He looked like he was handling a hand grenade whenever he had the puck. I wasn't impressed with his ability to lug the puck, corral the puck, or even pass the puck. Muzzin was honestly that good last night. I thought he may have been the best Leaf on the ice. Honestly, if Muzzin continues to put up games like THAT, and Rielly is on a different pairing, our defensive problems will be masked pretty well. I'm not sure he can, but that was a real wow game to me.
