thought the Leafs were toast after Boston opened the scoring. but that was a super impressive game.

for the penalties, my 2 cents is that it worked out. if the Leafs get the calls then you know the makeup calls are coming too and when you're on the road in the playoffs, i think you want a low-penalty game. especially in Boston where that Bruins team can ride the momentum of a PP goal.

If all the players are actually worth league minimum, sure. If you can get a few good players on ELCs in there, then you can do some damage around the $3 million mark.

I thought the Leafs played an excellent counter punch game. They'd wait for the Bruins to go for it and then there'd be a three on one screaming the other way. It's a dangerous way to play but it worked really well. And Chara deserved about 5 penalties before he finally got nailed.

Maybe the Backes idea wasn't so good.
