I like that the Leafs made Chara look old and slow (which he is) and like a giraffe on skates.

(frank) me, they were not happy calling that. They tried all they could to let it go. It felt like a Leafs goal being brought back for offside
- walshyleafsfan

They had to call it.. The best/worst part was how long it took the refs to decide it was a penalty..
McAvoy, played the puck for at least a second before the whistle blew.

Wow, for the first time any of us can remember, Hughson and Simpson weren't poopting all over the Leafs and this is the impression?

They, absolutely correctly, pointed out the bad non-calls by the refs.

- Aetherial

thought the Leafs were toast after Boston opened the scoring. but that was a super impressive game.

for the penalties, my 2 cents is that it worked out. if the Leafs get the calls then you know the makeup calls are coming too and when you're on the road in the playoffs, i think you want a low-penalty game. especially in Boston where that Bruins team can ride the momentum of a PP goal.

Have Bruin fans done a suicide check on Jack Edwards? I heard he was inconsolable after the game.

His tears sustains me.

Surely a suicide check means that someone cares?

Jake looked a little rusty, still nice having some experience on the 3rd pair.

It’s funny, when it’s other teams players that do great against the Leafs, HNIC/TSN/Sportsnet bring it up often during a game. If it’s a Leafs player, nada.

He did. I think his minutes were pretty limited though?

Edit: Yep. Him and Dermott didn't play a ton. Dermott ~12 and Jake ~16min.

I like Jake on the 3rd with 15 ish mins and not much 3rd period action. Thought all the D played really well. Few giveaways but not many. That's all you can ask for.

Which is just fine. Let him get back into game shape. Throw him out on the PP2.

He made one play where he shoveled it up the boards to the bruins while having 3 leafs 100% open in pass support, but other than that he looked really good.

I was pleasantly surprised just how well all Leafs were breaking up plays and closing lanes. Really really well done.

I'm sorry but that hit was late as (frank).
- Scabeh

yes it was, just like the hit on Nylander while he was returning to the bench by Debrusk just a shift before....

so either the Leafs got the correct benefit of the doubt for once... or the usual Boston bias hasn't kicked in yet.

as a Habs fan... I'm surprised that you aren't up in arms about anything to do with the Bruins getting an advantage....

I mean, I can't think of a single instance where officiating has EVER helped the Habs

If not for his penalty, Andersen could have had a shutout.
