yes it was, just like the hit on Nylander while he was returning to the bench by Debrusk just a shift before....
so either the Leafs got the correct benefit of the doubt for once... or the usual Boston bias hasn't kicked in yet.
as a Habs fan... I'm surprised that you aren't up in arms about anything to do with the Bruins getting an advantage....
I mean, I can't think of a single instance where officiating has EVER helped the Habs - BorjeFan4Ever
In the 1970s, by even showing up at the forum against the Habs, you were almost guaranteed the first penalty would be called on you. |

somebody should tell Nylander that the playoffs have started.
don't understand all the 'he had a great game' comments.
Marner/Matthews played way better against much better competition.
Still floating.
I really hope he will be traded this off-season. - MaximusAurelius
No matter what Nylander does, you will always hate him. Delete your account. |

he's overvalued at 6.9mln / year caphit.
the guys on that podcast are 100% right on him (and Dubas handling the Nylander situation). |

Why would they call a penalty on a fan?
At least it didn't have an impact on the game, where the Habs would win fair and square. |

You shouldn't. Never trade a guy who's at an all-time low, value-wise.

For those of you who love ripping in Melander (and let's be honest, we all hate his selfish ass), they absolutely tore him a new one last night on Bob McCown's show last night:
https://www.sportsnet.ca/...-for-leafs-bruins-game-1/
Jump to the 1:30:16 mark with Gord Stellick - they start by ripping Babcock a little, a bit of wandering jibber-jabber, and then it's all Melander-hate, all the time (starting at 1:40:00). - Atomic Wedgie
Bob Mccowen knows nothing about hockey. I've listened to his idiotic hilarious takes for years. He called Kadri a 'bust" when he was the same age as Nylander(I was listening).
And LOL, @ kissing Lou's butt after talking about Leaf contracts. 10.8 million next season for Marleau and Zaitsev. Those are Lou's moves. And they are whining about Nylander getting 6.9 million? And Lou could have signed Nylander last year when eh was here and did not. |

I'm just going to go ahead and say it:
The 1976-77 Habs just weren't that good.
I mean, look at the roster:
Lafleur
Shutt
Robinson
Lapointe
Lemaire
Mahovlich
Risebrough
Cournoyer
Lambert
Tremblay
Savard
Jarvis
Gainey
Dryden
I mean seriously, I've never even heard of half these guys.

Let's trade him for some 2nd-pair D and watch Nylander get 70+ points yearly. |

I hardly noticed him at all.. Brown and Moore were far more effective.

His shooting % is less than 50% his career average. I will bet you that won't happen.
Last 2 months he's a 60 point player again with that horrific shooting %.
Do not pull a Chiarelli. Keep your blue chip young talent.

I like how Ariziona can sign a 1 time 50 point player for almost 6 million per, but god forbid Nylander get 6.9 per. Only in Toronto. |

keep telling yourself that.
nylander is just a regular 2nd line support player - not an elite 1st line fw. |

meh..this stuff is getting quieter and will fade away...you still have the ones who listen to Bob Mccowan and eat up his horrible grumpy old man takes.
Or John (frank)ing Shannon who has a list so long of awful opinions you couldnt track them all on the internet there isnt enough space |

He's not paid like a 1st line elite player FYI.
And he's played on the 1st line and never had less than 61 points in a full year.
His shooting % is unsustainably low. |
