But seriously, I actually don't think Graves or Richter should have had their numbers retired.
Graves is one of my all time top 3 favorite Rangers, but lets be honest, they don't win that cup neither would have had their jersey retired. - mdw7413

I mean before Hank, Richter was the best goalie in the modern history of the franchise. If he doesn't have injury (and Kennan) problems, he's probably a slam dunk hall of famer. If it wasn't for injury and somehow having to split time with not only Beezer, but Glen Healy, he might still be the all time win leader for us.

I agree. I think Richter, who I completely cherish is just not of the same ilk as Lundqvist. He is a Stanley Cup winner so that gives him a lot of clout, but Lundqvist's length and consistency of service is impossible to match if you are looking strictly at Rangers tenders.
He will likely have few equals in the whole sport when he is done and will only be topped by Brodeur and maybe Roy if he calls it quits earlier than I expect.

Richter had 1 phenomenal season followed by several mediocre seasons.

Oh Hank is >>>>>>> Richter. I'm just replying to the notion that RIchter didn't deserve to have his jersey retired. People remember the bad seasons when he was broken and played behind awful teams, don't remember the good ones and what made Beezer expendable.

Think that is a bit of a stretch. - mdw7413
It would be closer than you think. Richter is 140 behind Hank. Not sure it's a stretch to say timeshares and injuries might have cost him a 100 wins. Mike only played 70 games once in his career.
Buch Nam and Winn pick for EDM’s 8th overall. EDM needs guys that can fill their top 9 for cheap, Nam has proven playing with talented players he can be a top 6 guy, but he needs McDavid/Draisatl type guys to elevate his game.
Unfortunately our D is a disaster esp having Shatty for 2 more years but getting Nam and Buch off the books and having ELC for Kakko and Kravtsov might allow us to buy him out. Keep Smith on the 4th line and try to get a RHD.

I am kind of surprised to see that Lundqvist never cracked 40 wins.

But he also retired at what 35-36 even with the injury. Even if he was healthy I don't think he would have had success.
You are right though about the Jersey, looking at it from strictly the Rangers organization, yeah he deserved it
Nash had 3 goals in 25 playoff games that. 2 of them in blow outs agains the Habs. 1 which was critical in game 2. Nash choking was a huge part of that. Let's not gloss over that fact. - tomburton99
Firstly, oops! I pulled that percentage of my head. I could have sworn they were below 10%.
2nd, I admit that Nash underperformed. My stance has always been that if the PP was any better than putrid, they would have won the Cup despite Nash not carrying them.

he retired because of a fractured skull how many years did we watch Hank make head stops and was I the only one that though oh dear god not again like every time

I thought the same thing everytime he does the header. Shows how much equipment has improved though

I don't see any viable reason to put Buch in that package.

I recall him flailing a bit after pancaking but it cuts short.

I like Buch, but if we sign Panarin plus Kravtsov and Kakko coming over it’s either Buch or Kreider. The Winn pick would be late teen/early 20’s, going to take something to move 10-15 spots.
Cause its going to take him 60 games again next year to get going - mdw7413
I think less now that he know what Quinn's boot in his ass feels like!
Not to mention that now he knows what it takes and the simple fact that he can do it!
