I like Buch, but if we sign Panarin plus Kravtsov and Kakko coming over it’s either Buch or Kreider. The Winn pick would be late teen/early 20’s, going to take something to move 10-15 spots.

it's too much to include Buch along with the 22nd pick (or higher) just for the 8th pick

I'd like to trade up to that pick too, but that's the kind of trade that would require picks

I think less now that he know what Quinn's boot in his ass feels like!
Not too mention that now he knows what it takes and the simple fact that he can do it!

I agree. I wouldn't trade him. Want to see how he starts the year next year, and if its more of the same boot his ass, but agreed that I think he finally gets it. A full season of Buch with the way he played the last 2 months would do wonders for the forward depth.

Glad to see him finish the season strong. Hope he brings that into camp next season. Nice to see him smile a few times.

Panarin Kakko Kreider Kravtsov Chytil Lemeuix in your top 9. I like Buch but I think it’s him or Kreider. I don’t think we keep both. (This is if we sign Panarin, if not we can keep both)

The weird thing was I believe he was one of the best players at camp this past season.

I don’t think EDM would want a package of picks though. They want roster players to play with McDavid and Draisatl

I mean we had to wait 3 years for Buchnevich to become a 20 goal scorer

you want to trade him and another first round pick to draft an 18 year old who'll probably go to college for 2-3 years that we hope in 5 years will become a 20 goal scorer

From a previous mock draft this is who I want, Moritz Seider:

The cupboard in Carolina is stocked with offensive-minded defenders like Jake Bean and Adam Fox, so what better way to complement their fast-paced game with one of the best one-on-one defenders available. Seider is the top rookie in the German Elite League and put forth a heroic effort in helping the under-20 program qualify for next year’s world junior championship.

I just don’t see where Buch fits. I would be fine packaging him for RHD also if we could get rid of Shattenkirk

Fair enough, I guess.
But, if it's Buch or Kreider, I think I'd rather hold on to Buch. Younger, earning less and still has an unknown ceiling. I like Kreider, but I think at this point we know what he is and should stop expecting a lot more than he has put up in a season.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not disrespecting the points he scores. I just don't think he will magically produce an extra 20 above his norm. Maybe Buch never surpasses Kreider's numbers in a season, but I think he could.

I think it’s a tough call but I don’t think both will be here if we sign Panarin. If we don’t sign Panarin I think they could both still be here. I like Buch a lot, just looks like a logjam if Panarin is here and I don’t think we’re getting rid of Chytil/Kakko or Kravtsov. That leaves either Buch or Kreider.

I think with all the young talent on the team Lemeuix being in the top 9 is a smart move. Him on the 4th line playing 8 minutes a game does nothing.

On D...have to get rid of at least two of the following...Smith, Shatty, Staal, Pionk.

look Buchnevich has waaaaay more trade value than adding him with the 22nd pick to move up to 8th

they put way too much into this guy to give him away when he's finally turned the corner and more skilled young guys to play with coming our way

It'd be best to get rid of all of them, but its probably not going to happen.
