Comets on Friday look like this:
Pyatt-Kero-Boucher
Bancks-Woods-MacEwen
Gaunce-Darcy-Lind
Gadjovich-Hamilton-Jasek
LeBlanc-Sifers
Thow-Blujus
Anselmini-Graham
Anybody wonder why the Comets sucked so bad at the end of the season. That defence is I hope they sign a few free agent D either it be college/CHL/ europe.
The centres are just as bad if not worse. Kero is fine but Woods, Darcy, Hamilton. - manvanfan
Next year they will have Briesbois Teves Biega and OJ Elliot |

It really depends on who they go after. Teams in Cap trouble may be looking for a Virtanen type contract. - VANTEL
And that could work, I wouldn't be apposed to a deal like that and you'd think you would get a good player coming back if Jake was one of the pieces. |

The young D won't come cheap. Do you wait and develop one? - VanHockeyGuy
There isn't much option. That or trade one of Horvat, Boeser or Pettersson for a young top 4 d-man. You would then create one hole by filling another. It's called 'a Benning'. |

I like Biega's effort but if you can upgrade Hutton Pouliot and Biega then that is a big step in the right direction |

AVs would be nuts to trade their top 4 for the two Botch mentioned. Botch is get dumber by the day . - VANTEL
To be fair, the Avs traded a 1st and a 2nd for Varlamov |

Varlamov was highly regarded back then too. But the answer is still the same no one trades their top 5 pick except the Dumb asses from Ottawa |

The more I look at trades on a team by team bases, I have a lot more faith in Benning. Moves over the years by GM's that won cups or created and found amazing draft picks out of nowhere. Every GM has more than a few WTF trades or signings on their resume's
Edit: that trade was done by George McPhee who his core won a cup in WSH without him against the team he created |

A closer look at those 47 rookie forwards with more goals than Lind and Gadjovich reveals some unsettling observations:
Of that group, 12 are undrafted, including the aforementioned Barre-Boulet.
Of the ones that were drafted, 20 were taken in the third round or later.
In their 2017-18 seasons in junior, 28 had fewer than Lind’s 39 goals with the Rockets, and ten had fewer than Gadjovich’s 25 goals with the Attack.
There's this but what JD fails to mention is that Lind and Gadjovich pretty sure are the youngest two players out of the 47.
I believe 11 out of the 47 were drafted higher than Lind and Gads |
