I hope I'm wrong about Lind, this summer is big for him. - Nucker101
He got it together this year pretty well, just had some bad injury luck. Was up to top6 minutes at one point consistently. I hope you’re wrong about him too haha. I kinda hope im wrong about gadjovic too |

McDavid speed or we don't want them. - manvanfan
Quinn can catch him |

Victor Soderstrom at #10 will work for me. RH shot Dman with a ton of offensive ability and great transition game. If Cozens is still there at #10, we take him. - Itsjustarash

Are we just seeing the step up from the CHL to the AHL especially for a very young 19 year old. Don't forget on a pretty bad Utica team. - manvanfan
There's definitely an adjustment, but usually it's a lanky kid who has the speed and needs to get stronger or bigger kid who needs not get a bit quicker. I feel like Lind needs both which is what has me down on him. To his credit his skating did seem to be a bit better during the back half of the season.
Just my opinion of course, I'd love to be wrong. |

No, but dude go watch some Foote tape and tell me everything about him doesnt look heavy and slow. He will get absolutely torched at the NHL level imo - neem55
Can you read? Go look at the 2nd post and read the entire thing. |

Who? - Nucker101
Podkolzin is my guy but I think he is going to drop out of the top ten is my prediction. I bet JB would let him go by 10 as well. Some scouts are high on this kid saying top 5 because he is playing high minutes against men and he is fast and gritty. Others not so much likes to hold the puck too long selfish etc. I have only really seen a small sample size but he has what I like great skater and wants the puck. Some say its selfish but winners want the puck. |

Few and far between.
Hansen had a ton of speed with very other little abilities. - manvanfan
They don't have to be burners, but I'd say both of those guys are below average in terms of skating. And even if you argue that Lind is average, his strength is below average so the combo isn't great there right now.
Up to him to improve in both areas. |

If he’s there, I hope to God we pass. Think he’ll be gone though. Might provide a chance to trade back a couple picks if he falls & someone in the teens is interested. |

I'm much less inclined to worry less about a players skating and more a players habits. Pearson has less than avg skating but has been able to put up 40 points a few seasons.
In his terrible 2012 draft 30oa is 9th in scoring in his draft.
Goldobin and Spooner are much quick and suck more. So can JV but lacks the IQ
Mark Stone one of the slowest players in the league in terms of skating has the hockey IQ to score 70 points a season.
Skating, size and ample hockey IQ would find you as a number 1 pick in pretty much every draft. |

Hockey sense is number one for me along with skill, but I’m not drafting a kid who I think is below average in both skating/size unless it’s in the back half of the draft. |

I compare him Wahlstrom. He seems to know where to be in the offensive zone. I would go as far to say his hockey sense on offence is fine. He knows where to be and where his teammates are. His defensive awareness is questionable. |

I do like the idea of Boeser working with a skating coach and getting leaner. I remember seeing him at the pre-season presser and was like "dang Brock channeled his inner Lesnar" |

But was not the case at the end of year presser. He slimmed down and was way less hulk ish then before the season started. |

I think Carol posted a pic from that presser. He literally dwarfed Bo. |
