He us more productive than Girgs and Larsson at 33
He plays the game the right way
He is excellent in the locker room...clearly, the Sabres need positive veteran leadership...even for 1 year.

Normally I wouldn't want a cap dump, but to get two solid guys who have learned the game from some of the world's best...ya, I do it for just 1 year.

I get that he wanted to retaliate for the (clean)hit on Marleau but that was some weak B.S. that might cost him 2 or 3 games because he pulled that cowboy sh!@ last year.

In a series this closely matched, that could be the difference.
Andersson looks on his game though.

Yeah, they're definitely under the radar, plus they're coming out of the west which looks like an easier road these days. Some of these east series are going to be a total blood game by the end...(see toronto v boston).

Winning the cup is a battle of attrition so the easier you can through rounds the better your overall chances...probably,

(would be interesting to see some stats on that...winners OT games, penalty minutes, hits, total games played...)

That was not a clean hit by Debrusk, plus there was the borderline knee-on-knee one on Kadri earlier in the game which I'm sure poured a little gas on the fire, but Kadri can not do that. That was worse than the hit last year too. That should be 5 games. Regular season probably 10 or more.
