Yes because the refs, analysts, and eventually department of player safety will all agree with my assessment, but you guys are the only ones that see it the “right” way. Come on.
- RickJames77

We can disagree. We're on different sides of this.

Kypreos starts off the intermission session talking about how it's Kadri's fault, and how Jake didn't stick his leg out, and then they show the replay and EVERYONE, including Kypreos hesitate in mid-stream because it's pretty obvious Jake stuck his leg out.

To be clear: I've seen WAY worse and egregious cases. But his knee is out.

Nylander really, really sucks right now...like really.

Oh please. He doesn’t stick that leg out at all. If anyone stuck their leg out it was Kadri with a sidestep trying to avoid the hit.
- RickJames77

Well if your lined up for a hit like that you dont need to stick your (frank)ing leg out.

I just disagreed with an assessment is all. Not trying to start anything.

I’ll see myself out.

Nylander has been horrible for a year. Total dog poop.. all these people defending him need to stfu and pay attention.
- Arctic_AARDVARK

Again, I'll bite. I like Nylanders game.
BUT.. you aren't wrong. This year sucked. But that's par for the course for hold outs. He's signed long term so there is no reason to throw him away early (with a lower return to boot.)
Give him next year and go from there.

Remember you're in the Leafs thread and everybody is annoyed we're getting our asses kicked tonight. Just let us rage about this, ok?

To be honest, I expected a loss this game. Bruins needed a win tonight bad.

- Thecakeisalie

In reality, we'd have taken a split before they even played the games.

But...it ain't over yet.

I would expect a suspension if it was any other team. DeBrusk that is

It's not like he's a bad trade chip in the future but year it's hard to imagine much tolerance for that lack of tenacity.

But wouldn't it make more sense to overreact emotionally and trade him to another team for a small return, and then watch him excel elsewhere?

Nylander has a character problem. It's what scouts were concerned about prior to the draft and I'm afraid it's true. Hopefully he has a big bounce back season so Leafs can explore trade options. I wouldn't want to force a trade, but if there's a good hockey trade out there, they should consider it.

It's hard to skate circles around people when they can interfere with you when you're skating with no repercussions. But I agree. They need to put the ref in the awkward situation of having to make that decision.
- Monkeypunk

Great point! I think the refereeing has been atrocious but the buds have to fight through all the junk and make it incredibly apparent to the refs that a call needs to be made. I can’t believe what Boston has been allowed to get away with but an endless effort will even things up over time.

Then (frank) him for holding out and hurting the team. Their record without him is way better. Wait and see how he does in the playoffs they say. Ok give him one more year, maybe he’ll suddenly try a lot harder..

The only trade proposal that UG got right: Nylander for Hamilton.

Exactly. I'm not enjoying the game tonight, but once it's over and I have a chance to calm down, I'll consider that it's 1-1 and the next two games are in Toronto. And who knows, maybe the Leafs come out in the third and play like their asses are on fire (I mean, skating like the wind, not rolling on the ice) and win this thing.

Agreed totally

That said put the refs names back on the jerseys. No more hiding who you are and how lousy you are.
