I liked the game overall but there's about 6-8 players injured on either side because of the refs.
Watch the next game be called like its the first game of the season, as an over-reaction to the non-calls in this game. - Buggy166
Wouldn't surprise me if you're right.
It's like the refs don't have a 'game plan'. Way too often the NHL refs are inconsistent - pretty much like LeafMan in here tonight... |

The players had no idea what was going to be called so they were hesitant. The refs ruined the game. - Arctic_AARDVARK
The Bruins players knew early on that there was a lot of leeway. Hyman, and Muzzin to an extent, realized early on that there was a lot of leeway.
The rest of the Leafs are still wondering. |

Babs is in quite a bind.... with Matthews game gone to hell for the 3rd year in a row in the playoffs, instead of 4th lining him like im sure was them plan, now, because of Kadri again getting suspended, Babs has to go against his gut instinct of sitting 34 down until he gets his focus back, and keep running him out there.
You can bet Babs is NOT happy with Kaz for getting suspended yet again |

We have so few, that it looks really bad when they do.
Stupid thing about Kadri is, I've never seen Marleau come in aid of his defense, so I don't know why he bothered. Other than the Jersey actually meaning something to him - walshyleafsfan
He needs to pick his battles better. I don’t think he enjoys it like Marchand, he just gets pissed off lol. |
|
|

He crosschecked him in the face! You would go down like a sack too.
Chara backs up his teammates just like I said Kadri was doing. I see no problem with players protecting other players, especially the younger ones. - Thornton22
Yeah cause Tavares dropped like he was dead earlier getting the stick in the face right?!?! Sorry he Pele’d that huge |

Did you see any blood? Both Muzzin and Dermott were cut on dirty plays . Only two minutes called on the Muzzin hit - and he was clearly cut from the hit. Excellent acting job by a rat. |

To say he sold it is ridiculous. Kadri dives, but I can't recall to many times him staying down after a hit. - joel878
Yeah he knows that you dingus...how many calories do you have to burn to stay down when you're trying to sell?
Man you guys are so naive

2 points in 9 games against Boston in the playoffs for Auston. Not the reason we lost; but not good enough |

Parros never gives the Leafs a break, probably still blames them from the concussion that Orr gave him that ended his career. Remember that Hyman hit, he got two games for an interference hit that caused no injury and was to the chest of the player.
I don’t trust his judgment on suspensions, it’s been pick and choose all year. - LeafMan
He's running his new position with the same level of class as the level he played at in the NHL. He's worth less than the stuff drained out of septic tanks.

They gave goat and Kadri weak calls early on. So I think they were confused. Anyways, moving on to game 3 |

Ferland gets an undeserved Match & misconduct.
Here ppl whine about refs after a dirty crosscheck.
A diver & faker who cannot control himself for all to see isn’t playing tough hockey. He’s a loose cannon with no support & everybody knows it’s a soft team with no push back.
Use speed & skill & win or live with it. |

When the ref's don't call the borderline hits it's up to the players to set the tone. The players are more than capable of policing the game too.
Not just this game but a zillion other ones over the years.
Refs should have called more on both sides.

He needs players on his wings to suit his game. IMO I don't think Johnsson, nor Kapanen, suit the way he plays.
I think Nylander (pre this season), Marner and potentially Bracco suits the way Matthews plays.
Then you need a LW that can look after them. |

Matthews deserves all the scrutiny he gets. He'll be the league's second highest paid player next season. He should be one of the best players on the ice most nights. |

I was watching the game with my buddy's and after the obvious knee on knee hit one of them decided to check out reddit to see what people were saying and this comment (frank)ing killed us-
