PO’s needs warriors & sacrifice.
Dancing like it’s regular season doesn’t cut it. Both Matthews & Nylander are questionable if they don’t understand that.

He needs players on his wings to suit his game. IMO I don't think Johnsson, nor Kapanen, suit the way he plays.

I think Nylander (pre this season), Marner and potentially Bracco suits the way Matthews plays.

Then you need a LW that can look after them.

Matthews only look at the ‘94 Cup finals & play like Linden did. He can if he smells the coffee.

When the ref's don't call the borderline hits it's up to the players to set the tone. The players are more than capable of policing the game too.
Not just this game but a zillion other ones over the years.
Refs should have called more on both sides.

Agreed. And for what it's worth, Bruins played a good game. For all our complaining about the refs, I do think the Bruins just played a far more strategic game tonight that cancelled the Leafs' speed game. Good coaching strategy that the players executed.

Leafs' coaching staff needs to make more adjustments if we're going to win game three. We also need more from our stars, Matthews especially.

They literally invented penalties to call the Leafs on, and called next to nothing on Boston. The officials were a (frank)ing disgrace.

By no measure did the Leafs deserve a win either, but this is one of those situations where both of these are true.

They seemed fine earlier in the season, but you could be right. Matthews is primarily a shooter, so he needs someone that's a decent playmaker, and possibly has a decent shot themselves so the goalie can't just focus on Matthews. Nylander should probably get put back with Matthews (assuming Willy doesn't need to play 3rd line C next game).
