Boston is going to be more physical?? Really? You mean they might throw a body check... assuming of course they can actually get their skating up to snuff and CATCH SOMEONE TO HIT!?

Yeah I expect the Bruins to be a bit more determined and try and play the body more but can we stop with the over exaggeration of OMG they are going to kill the Leafs in Game 2 because well.... Backes is in the lineup?!?!?!?!

They will come out with more pressure, they will try and play the body more, and Rask will want to come out with a better effort. That said Backes doesn't bring them a lot, and the possible loss of DeBrusk, or if he plays how hurt is he and how will that affect him, could well be more detrimental than helpful.

Leafs will have to have Andersen be on his game again, need to be absolutely disciplined, and will need to push the pace and keep skating and pressing. Bigger concern is weathering the heavy press which will come right from opening puck drop from the Bruins.

Nah just an opinion... doubt they would let me write for the site at all. Might be fun though. Leafs don't need another blogger though wouldn't be opposed to doing another team I like and follow.

The sheer hyperbole, most of it negative, that surrounds Toronto from the Canadian media is frustrating. It creates this narrative.

The reality is right along what you're saying. Although I'd probably also note that Boston is not normally that slow nor disengaged. I'd expect Boston to not only attempt to be more physical, but really more closely engaged with a player and closing those gaps. The Leafs sprung how many on stretch passes last game? Against Boston you expect that approach to just create turnovers. Tonight will be a good indicator if Game One was because the Leafs made the right adjustments, or if it was more because Boston wasn't as tight as they can be.

The national media are so anti-Leafs it's a joke. When the Leafs win the big story is offersheets. What a joke.

“We have to be better”

“We will come out playing our game well and stoping their game”

Fans and media eat that poop right up.

Only if it mattered what the players said in post game interviews. Montreal would be in the playoffs....

I expect Boston to try to get the leafs off their game with physical play which hopefully leads to penalties and players out of position for the leafs to take advantage.

I was at the bar with friends for game 1. We mentioned the leafs looked afraid in game 1 last year. Wasnt the same this year. The leafs are definitely mentally strong this round.
