Willy will be good. That one play was glaring but Andersen sticking that big goalie stick out like he was going to play it sure didn’t help.

Hoping being at Centre picks him up.

He was drastically bad last game, and deserved to be called out on it.

How many times have you heard - "the fastest guy on the ice is the one who turned it over"?

Last game Nylander, apparently, had never heard that. If he didn't have the puck, it was someone else's problem, even if it was him that coughed it up.

I'm not sure if he needs to get mad, or . . . but he needs to get motivated because I've seen him play with some edge.

It's not a "favour the Bruins over the Leafs" thingy.

It's a "let's put away the whistles because this is playoff hockey" thingy.

It's a statistical fact that the Bruins take more penalties than the Leafs - in the regular season.

If all things remained equal, that trend would continue in the playoffs.

But the referees are instructed to put away their whistles, and as a result, the team that usually takes more penalties gets away with more.

And there's the whole "let's keep things equal" notion, too.

Case in point: with 7 minutes left in a close game yesterday, a Penguin crosschecked and Islander, than dove on top of him and started wrestling.

So the referee called coincidental minors. Why?

Because it was a close game with 7 minutes left.

Hockey is the only sport on earth where a penalty depends upon:

- score of game
- time left in game
- salary of player committing the infraction
- number of penalties called on each team in the game already.

It's a franking joke - and I'm not just saying this as Leafs fan.

Speaking in general terms and not team specific, you'd definitely be able to quantify whether this is true or not. I'd guess your assumption is accurate.

One team is averaging less penalties than the regular season.

Who do you think that is?
