Right.
I get that everyone is fed up with this organization or the owners or the players or the gm or the price of beer or all of the above, but I (frank)ING HATE people that kick someone while they're down, and that includes spreading bullish!t rumors, making assumptions, jumping to conclusions, etc.
They haven't hired anyone: "it's been a week. No one wants the job"
They hire someone tomorrow: "they rushed it. Why wouldn't they take their time?"
Just so sick of the negativity. - Powerslave
We are going to get another key piece to our team at 7 even if we have to wait 1-2 years for his impact.
Cheer for CBJ, DAL, COL, VGK to win their playoff series and for the Blues to lose and we can end up in a sweet spot with their selection.
Hopefully we resign Skinner and Botts can get the right HC for this team moving forward.
We have a ton of cap space and we were not as bad as our record indicates as with better coaching and goaltending even this years rendition of the Sabres could have put up 85 points in the standings this year. |

You're actually one of the few that manages to stay positive on here. It's refreshing.

Maybe they should win, maybe they should make the playoffs, maybe they should try and keep a coach, winning makes other players take notice and want to sign here. some are tired of the waiting and drafting and draft picks and the other crap that comes with it.
So if you don't like to hear it, that sounds like a personal problem because until this team changes for the better, you will hear it everyday. |

Misery loves company.
And complaining about it accomplishes what, exactly? You want to make an impact? Hit em where it hurts. Stop watching, stop going, stop buying jerseys, etc etc etc.
I choose to stay positive. |

I mean I was the tank commander but my intentions were pure. I think the player we select at 7 will be another key piece to getting this thing turned around.
We need veteran talent though. Ideally Okposo and Moulson would have been top 6 forwards on this team and if they earned their paychecks then ROR and Kane would still be here and we would probably be a playoff team. I think Mittelstadt and Dahlin will make up for little bump in the road though. We need veteran leaders who can play and a coach with a disciplined structure.
This is a big offseason for Botterill. I think Thompson will become a quality cost controlled top 9 player for us, but he needs to bring in a 2C to help bridge the gap until Mittelstadt can take the mantel in order for us to win now. All the elements are in place though for us to win from “now on” though (Dahlin, Eichel, Reinhart, Mitts, Montour, Olofsson, 7th OA, UPL) |

If you don't like to hear that's on you, there are more people that are tired of it then the ones that want to sty positive. You think you are making an impact by staying positive? no chance in hell are you or I making that happen.
This organisation is a train wreck and it's worse with Pegula running it, but you do you. |

He will be out on his ass by mid season if this team fails by then, book mark this page so you and everyone can call me out on it like they love to do. |

Character vets are a must, for any team. We have none. Hopefully he can find one or two that don't break the bank. |

I never said I wasn't tired of losing.
But it certainly brings out the worst in people, that I've noticed.
We're not the first organization to be a train wreck, by a mile, and we're certainly not going to be the last.
It's going to get better. |

This comment.
Cripes. Because he hasn't hired someone in 7 days, no one wants the job?
Or just that Botterill is doing what he SHOULD be doing, interviewing everyone he can. - Powerslave
Obviously, stupid.

Nice work.
Can he elevate a 2C while getting 60-65 points himself at RW? That's the ideal scenario for him imo.
If I could throw another wrench in the works, I have this thought as well: We all know Reinhart is not a center, but does Housley not deserve some blame for not trying Reinhart at center when Eichel was hurt? Or when Mittelstadt struggled? Wouldn't that have at least been interesting? It's kinda puzzling in retrospect that it wasn't even an option for the player who was drafted as a center.
I get that it's not fair to expect Reinhart to be a center when he hasn't shown the ability to do that in the NHL, but it feels like another lost opportunity to see what would have happened in a lost season.
But yeah, 60-65 points at RW while not playing with Eichel should be the goal - jcragcrumple
Absolutely should’ve tried Sam at Center

Could have been Eberle, paajarvi, hall and rnh if we let vanek walk (I know Edmonton would not have been as bad) - adambuffalo
I actually wanted the four 1sts from Edmonton
I was very disheartened after Briere/Drury walked, and didn’t think we’d be able to still be a top team without them |

Housley was given Smith. He then scored, was demoted to the 4th line, was scratched, and then demoted to the A. That's on Phil, not Botterill.
TT will have plenty of time to marinade in the A for the rest of his career. Lest we forget, he played in STL in the bigs last year - jcragcrumple
Happened with Bailey last year & the season before as well
Gotta let these kids make mistakes & give them the chance to play through them |

I agree that they'll do something at C, but Casey was sheltered heavily. He played low 3rd line minutes and got 72% ozone starts. They need a strong two-way C, not sure that's Duchene at 9m+. Need a solid plan B when you lose out on him. - Lunaion
And he still only had 25pts?!
I get that he is very young...
but that’s worrisome |

Mark Stone is a fantastic hockey player. If Skinner thinks he should be making that kind of money I can see why Botts is holding strong. Idc if he scored 40 goals, Stone is the best two way winger in the league while scoring 30+. Stone makes an impact in every facet of the game. - Pegullaville

Not good if he walks, this team looks like a joke as it is. - SABRES 89
I dunno, he waived to come here and we gave up basically nothing to get him. I'm sure he'll walk (who wouldn't ? you get to leave the horrible-weather area of WNY for millions and millions of dollars to wherever you want to go). Again, we gave up jack squat to get Skinner to begin with.
