On a non-hockey note, I forgot how much fun golf is when Woods is in the hunt for a major win. |

No he's not - SABRES 89
If Botts doesn't get rid of Risto and his -40 after posting 43 pts (think about that, really really hard to do), his 44% Corsi and pretty low PDO, along with just pure stupid play....
Welp, I don't know what to say other than bye bye Jason.
Yes, they will eventually need a RhD when Bogo goes, but for now they can ease Borgen in occassionally.
Risto is pure addition by subtraction |

They wont be getting Risto for Callahan, Joseph and 3rd line center.
No Tampa then. Move on to somewhere else. - Mentalorgasm5
Honestly, I’m not sure we ought to be trading Risto or Sam, and if we do, I’m not sure that Tampa is a good partner. Given their cap situation, they want to keep young cost controlled players and that is also what we’re looking to acquire. |

I don't care about Corsi and the whole team was bad, Botterill won't be gone because he doesn't move Risto. He will be gone if the new coach and any additions he makes fail. |

Cal Foote isn't going to be included in any deal for Risto.
Why on earth would Tampa trade a 20 yr old, cost controlled, big RhD, who plays with toughness ready to jump to the NHL for older, expensive, RhD who plays a tough game once in 20 games?
They need toughness, so I do think they will continue to be interested in Risto, 'cause he loves to play tough against Kucherov and Ovie, and 1 or 2 others for his 10 games of toughness per year.
They have 3 Dmen aged 32, 33, 34 consuming $11.2m on a soon to be Cap strapped team needing to find an additional $5m in Cap Space. They need to replace at least 2 if not all three and Cal is targeted for 1 if them.
To get them to include Foote, you better give them another solid Dman, and would absolutely need to take Callahan or Tyler Johnson off their hands. Taking Johnson at 29 next season and 5 years of term at $5m would not be in the best interest of the Sabres. - IonSabres
If Foote is not available you move to next offer the sabres better not take trash |

His plus minus numbers are not as hard to understand given how much time he plays on the PP and in Empty Net situations.

Jesus Christ enough with Callahan, there is no reason for the Sabres to take him on, none. - SABRES 89
There is actually.
It can be an effective way to build a roster for the future.
It is called a Cap dump for 1 stupid year to acquire better players that can play in the middle 6 for 5, 6. 7 years.
Take your blinders off, it IS one way to build the roster.
Previously I felt like you about him and cap dumps as I thought the Sabres were going to emerge from bottom feeder status.
Wrong, lol.
Here we are again!
There is way too much heavy lifting to accomplish for them to be a playoff team next year. Might as well be smart about it and use the tactic to help advance the rebuild. |

Agreed. We need to lose one or two of ours.
I'd be fine giving away our late first and okposo for nothing, literally nothing. |

Well, he was like 8x as bad as the rest if the Dmen combined.
Coupled with an inability to play 2 systems
An inability to play a solid transition game
He is horrible.
Addition by subtraction with him. |

His 5 on 5 goals against per 60, which takes away his disadvantages against his peers ranks him dead last among Sabre regulars.
Per hour, he’s scored on the most |
