I have never been so digusted. What happened to our top players? How does a team that has the very best group of forwards, the best group of defensemen, a top five goaltender and the very best NHL coach not destroy a fragile, low talent and two decade long losing team? I believe a lot of this lost goes back to March 26, 2019. One of the darkest days in franchise history. The day they disrespected their NHL coach. The winningest coach in NHL in franchise history. A coach that has not been the same since that contract. Did anyone notice him during the series? No emotion, no drive, no change to strategy, terrible with the media. March 26 made me question my allegiance to the Lightning. My family has elected not to renew our season tickets because of this decision. With the Kings and Flyers hiring new coaches and paying them quite handsomely, Cooper is now outside of the top 10 list of best paid coaches. It's abhorrent. The coaching decisions in this series have been questionable at best. I believe this is directly related to March 26th.
I believe it is time to make significant changes to this team. Point with one single goal in 4 games I believe should be traded to the highest bidder. Miller, Palat, Killorn... ship them out. Stralman, Coburn, Girardi and Rutta... let them walk.
I know this may not be popular but I believe Julien BriseBois should be fired. He had so many assets to deal at the deadline. Looking at Duchene dominate in the series, there is no way the Bolts should have let him go to Columbus. Tampa could have sent more to Ottawa.
I hope that in the face of this loss, Jeff Vinik will consider selling the team. At the end of the day, he is directly responsible for this humaliating loss.
In the face of all the nasty messages and bullying directed towards me, this will be my final post on hockeybuzz. - Bolts91

You know what kid? You and Tampa deserved to lose. And the reason why is in your post. The number one reason why teams lose hockey games is because they vastly underestimate what their opponent can do. You say you got the best forwards and best D and best goalie, but you should think about what players your opponent has too. Columbus has 7 20 goal scorers, two of the best young D in the league in Werenski and Jones, and 2 time Vezina winner Sergei Bobrovsky. Know thine enemy. |

Ah... Good ol Bolts91....
Before the playoffs: Tampa is so superior to everyone, they might as well hand them the Cup now. Nobody can handle this team, elite in EVERY way. Say anything positive about your team, and prepare to be lectured about how Tampa is the most dangerous team out there, and how your team will subsequently be swept.
AFTER the Bolts playoff Performance: Trade and fire everyone. And people calling me out on my past comments are mean, nasty people, so I'mma take my ball and go home! |

They lost because of this post. Their coach told them all the same things you're saying. Coop told them CBJ sucks, and that this will be easy with no adversity.

I had that exact same thought reading his outburst. My brother (lives in Tampa) is the exact same way.
Both absolutely convinced that the team had the best of everything and could not possibly lose.
Totally underestimated the playoffs, Columbus in particular.
That Columbus team looks much better than we thought. If they continue to play like that, especially Bobrovsky, nobody will stop them.

Please show some respect to Bolts91, he's always been respectful and fun to engage with, it's not like he's been an arrogant wiener all season and totally deserves to be kicked while he is down. |

The Lightning's demise was 100% caused by your awful attitude and karma all year long. You're crying about bullying? You're the god damn bully.
You won't be back? Good riddance, no one will miss you.
