Yeah it really sucks and I would say its a landmark for the world not just France. I havent been there but I have been in Cathederals in Munich, Vienna and Salzburg that were bombed in WW2 and TBH you would never know so hopefully they can restore it. I mean the Brits burned down the White House and we rebuilt it so theres hope. From what I hear the exterior will be saved?

Also I dont this France would admit it if it were terrorism....They have enough issues on their own with that, there would be huge riots against the population if it were the case.

The interior was saved and the stone roof and most of the outside but all the wood on the outside (roofs) are gone and the spire is gone. I thankfully think they can restore it but it will never be the same again. I am just thankfull I got to see it atleast once.

We only accept fans from teams that haven't won a single game in the playoffs. Lightning fans come and enjoy the misery.

Gucci owner has pledged 100 million euro to rebuild. No doubt, it will not be the same.

Yeah he looks like he's a legit top D man already.....Barrie has improved his game a lot this past year too. IF the Avs owner can start spending more they will be a legit top team again.

I'm definitely all for putting McCann back with Crosby. That dudes a little fire plug. He plays a similar style. Putting Rust with Malkin and Kessel would be beneficial also.

good young team. McKinnon is def. on the list of NHL superstars not talked about enough. I think Seth Jones is another player on that list.

Avs should consider trading that 4th overall pick for a good young defenseman this offseason. Not sure what players would be around at #4 and how NHL ready they are, but they could use another good dman.

The Avs need a 2nd line center, not a young dman.

I am okay with McCann on the right side with Sid and Guentzel. I don't like Rust playing left wing one bit. Kudos to him for doing what needs to be done. He just isn't nearly as good on his off wing as he is on his strong side.

One problem the Pens have shown in this series, or better yet not shown, is patience. They have been struggling to score goals for quite some time now, yet they won quite a few games in March. Speed is a good thing but if it is not directed in the proper direction it is worthless. Think of a bullet, it is fast but if it is not used properly it can only cause damage.

I would not be shocked if at some point during his prime he’s the best defenseman in the league for a little bit.

I'm not suprised by the Canes... They were better than Caps in alot of categories in games 1 and 2, except goals scored of course haha.

He was thought to be going 1st overall for a long time. Has stud pedigree no doubt. Crazy that he was a part of the Preds when you look at their crazy good D core without him and also consider they had Webber there too haha.

1) I think people don't give the Islanders enough credit for how good they are.

2) Overall I agree. I put the onus on Sullivan.

- Rinosaur

I think I was the only one giving the islanders credit. People around here have a hard time giving players like Clutterbuck and Martin credit but they never take one single shift off and are willing to bleed for their team in October or April. That’s more important than skill in the playoffs. When you see the lowest guys on the totem poll playing that way I believe there is a trickle up effect in your lineup. Now all the Pens have to do is match that intensity and urgency and the raw skill should win out but Guentzel hovering around the slot like its his home instead of helping out down low isn’t going to cut it here. No Guentzel isn’t above criticism, great player but has been awfully lazy this playoffs.

Absolutely one one, and a portion of 2, however this is a veteran team with superstar leaders that have all but disappeared. It is the Coach’s job to prep the team but once the players jump the boards it is in the hands of the players.

It starts tonight...hopefully.

I understand that sometimes people don't like to hear the truth, but this blog is 100% accurate.

Rutherford should be fired in the offseason and maybe Sullivan too. It's not knee jerk, it's self preservation. This team has an expiring window to succeed within and it's closing fast. This roster is still salvageable but one more offseason of stupidity and the Crosby/Malkin era is essentially over. You can't recover from multiple seasons of mismanagement.

Sullivan has really shown me nothing to believe he himself is above replacement level, but I have to think the blame for the challenges of this seasons need to start with the GM.

Sullivan has had his ups and downs, and despite the fact that he isn't doing much to help himself, he's been handed a disjointed group of players he's struggling use cohesively. To me, this speaks to why Rutherford DEFINITELY needs to go.

RW made an excellent point that there needs to be cohesion between GM and HC regarding team build and player usage and this feels like the exact opposite. Firing the leadership may not be the only solution but I have to feel some action needs to be taken.

Blind faith in circumstances that are clearly creating negative outcomes is not going to make the situation better. I'm grateful for all the success the team has had over the course of the last decade but you have to call a spade a spade when you see it.

Nah, there was a few. I thought the series was a 50/50 and thought every single person denouncing the Isles or thinking the Pens had this in the bag were majorly jinxy....and they were....

You know, I was thinking about the window closing and really it would be because the core is aging and cant perform anymore...the latter is not the case. Crosby (31) had a 100 point season, Malkin (32) was injured for a chunk but still over a PPG, Kessel (31) had one of his best seasons ever and Letang (31) was on track for one, if not, best seasons of his career. Murray is only 24 and has been a starter for 2 cups.

Look at the Tom Bradys, Tiger Woods and Roger Federers of the sports world. Athletes, with their new age nutrition and training regimes, are staying effective longer.

Jagr put up a 27 goal season at 44 years old. He had a 123 point season followed by a 92 point season when he was 33 and 34.

Long story short, these guys have not been given a good defensive supporting cast this year AND the coach hasn't been using whats at his disposal in an optimal fashion. With the right moves this team can be a contender past next year....but Ive kinda lost faith that the GM can pull this off with what they're handcuffed with now.

Who actually counted the isles out? I remember pointing out to an islanders fan there is a difference between wanting the matchup and saying a team doesn’t belong, but I don’t recall many people counting the islanders out.

Much of the artifacts were saved or even removed (statues) before the renovations started. Also the organ with 8000 pipes survived.

You're right...I dont know about totally counted out but there was some pretty dismissive stuff being said, especially in the actual blogs being wrote.
