Do you think the Islanders would have a better chance of winning the Cup with Taveras or without him? - MJL
The point was it was addition by subtraction the same may be the case with the Flyers and voracek.

Oh im sorry i disturbed the amen-echo chamber with the hard reality that this team has sucked for the better part of a decade and your fraud captain is a big reason why. |

well the card is valid, because the guy lost his career and pretty much way of life over an over followed through slap shot in his own zone. You're telling me that's not a rare thing?? are you telling me that Pronger bringing us to the cup finals in his first ever year with us, and then being freakishly injured the next year, can't help us but think how different the landscape of our team would've been years later? does signing Shea Weber to the largest offer sheet in the history of offer sheets maybe show a bit of how important that type of defenseman would be to our team?
Yeah, guess that card isn't worth playing huh? |

Yeah, guess that card is worth playing huh? - sjk540 jfc it’s yeaaaaars ago he would have been retired by about five years ago so get off it already. The fact of the matter is the franchise is soft. The front office over values players and mis-judges not only player talent but coaching staff. It’s sports not rocket-science it’s a real simple formula to getting where the flyers got today. Crying about Chris Pronger 8 years later is a (frank)ing joke.

That’s just it isn’t it? I think certain people are stuck in their ways and they’re not about to get out of their perimeter pete comfort zones to play the type of hockey we need them to play to win. - JoeRussomanno
I just hope that we don't run Hart into the ground expecting him to make up for the lack of defense in AV's system
... or that you know AV adapts |

im not crying, im just saying its not out of the realm of possibility to say that during G's prime, if Pronger had been in the same health as he was when he first got here, and played another 3/4 years with G, that perhaps we have another cup to speak of. You're the one who started the whole, i knew back then that G's contract would have us in a race to be losers or whatever you said, the fact remains everything would have been different had Prongs been healthy. can't deny that.
i thought for someone as intelligent and flawless as you could have deduced we weren't talking about Pronger for where we are now, but what we may have been all those years ago, relating to your baseless opinion that G has and is the biggest problem for the reason as to why the Flyers haven't accomplished anything. |

True but I’ve seen worse flyer teams with worse goalies get a round or two in the playoffs. Those ritchie and carter teams had some guts. It’s a shame Richards threw his career away doing w/e he was doing. The teams in the 90’s and early 2000’s didn’t have any vezina caliber play from their goalies either. |

when they went to the cup your buddy Giroux played a pretty big part, second or third in points on the playoff run. |

Dood he was falling apart for a while and in his late 30’s. Just stahp.
You sign franchise guys to franchise contracts. No supporting cast guys.
Franchise guys are guys that go out and win games and impose their will on the competition. Not rack up nice numbers with nothing to show for it....
Giroux is a Alexander Semin that puts up a lot of assists. His game is soft as yogurt. Nobody is scared to play against him. Samething with voracek. Those two seriously are the Flyers’ version of Abreu and Lieberthal swear to Carlin’s ghost. |

Gordon is an up and coming coach who made this team look competitive quick. I really wonder what an off-season and training camp with him would’ve done. I agree that he’s a good coach but again i think the franchise is over valuing. - JoeRussomanno
Joe, Gordon is not an up and coming coach. He's been coaching Hockey since the mid 90's. Carter Hart had more to do with the Flyers looking competitive than Gordon did. That being said, he did a solid job. The Flyers made the right choice in choosing Vigneualt over Gordon.
