Dude i’ve been hearing this patience poop since 2011 and for a time subscribed to it. So uhgain koolaid drinking on your part.
Trying to predict the future? Pal let me tell you something and hopefully it gets through your head: I’ve BEEN predicting the future. I don’t need a (frank)ing stat sheet to tell me making guys like giroux your franchise guy spells trouble. Just watch two playoff series of his against NJ and NY. He gets blanketed and pushed pff the puck too too easy. He has nice elements to his game, no he doesn’t suck but you’re not winning a cup with these perimeter pete type guys. - JoeRussomanno
Claude Giroux has scored 65 points in 69 playoff games.

Culture change.
EDIT: and that should make him attractive to a contender, no? No trade clause or not; all those guys want is to be consulted. |

Yea he got most of those playing where he’s best :BEHIND OTHER PEOPLE.
What’s he done as captain? Since that penguins series? NOTHING |

Did you mean wut?
And wut are you talking about?
Get a GREAT RETURN for him? Or don't, he is good value now, but I still do not think he will be on our team when we do win.
I might be wrong but it's true, and if so, get anything NOW. |

2nd in the NHL in scoring in 2017-18.....I beleive he’s top 3 in scoring the last 5 years combined....what ever failings the Flyers have had ....they shouldn’t be placed on him, rather the managements inbility to build around him. (including a goalie that could stop a (frank)ing puck) |

A younger one? Or a more complete team around him?
Where his previous GM failed him? With zero urgency? |

i actually agree with the more complete team comment. surround your best players with players that put them in the best position to succeed.
but a "younger leader" doesn't make any sense to me. Couts is that guy imo. |

That is the point!
This team building thing has gotten partisan.
I am totally in favor of teardown, rebuild.
Knowing your team is ok but not good enough no matter what, sucks.

Only in hockey does a nearly worthless letter determine a guys worth. Might as well get rid of captains altogether. They don't need them in other sports. Why hockey? Its just something else for fans to cry over. |

Pass. He's on the verge of having to play a stale game altogether because of how often he's pulling dirty poop. |

i can see why a total rebuild would be attractive but then you're wasting years of the other young players careers hoping that you get franchise building blocks through the top of the draft which is far from guaranteed. if the Flyers were going to tear it down it should have been done several years ago. now is a terrible time. |

I never meant C, just a flat out leader.
Not always the point or plus/minus guy, hard to explain.
But WHATEVER we have, needs to change. |

If he’s so great you should get a monster return. I don’t think they can move him without eating a ton of salary. |

What are we doing now?
EDIT, that was my point entirely.
Hextall should have never tried to tweak. It was stupid and he NEEDED ownership support for his nonsense.
When that left his days were numbered, especially with no real improvement over 5 years. |

Without Giroux, the Flyers would have been battling Edmonton for the first pick in the draft. Probably could have had MacKinnon and MacDavid.......you know what, (frank) YOU , GIROUX |

Sanheim, Provy, Ghost, Myers is the make up of a really solid top 4 defense as they continue to develop. The offense is already pretty good and with the influx of Frost and Farabee should only get better. Fletcher still has a whole off season to really put his stamp on the team as well.
Now if Fletch sits by and does absolutely nothing then we're probably in trouble. I think it would be wise to see what is available for our 1st this year but it has to be within reason.
There was some talk of floating Patrick out there in the trade market which i'm not totally against. If you could get a truly elite young center for Patrick+ our 1st then i say go for it.
Morin is another guy that i'm not very attached to. He brings a lot of tools that teams seem to value but in reality is probably a 5-6 defenseman at his best. If someone offers a good deal for him i'd take it. Or package him with some other assets. |

That’s probably better for the longterm... everyone’s been telling me we need patience...If Hextall did something good he drafted well. Imagine if he had higher picks. |
