How the hell did Joe Thornton only get one game for what he did?
That was a disgrace. Head shot with intent to injure. |

I'd be more worried about Fletcher. I have very little confidence in him. At least Vigneault has had eight 100 point seasons. Two Cups finals appearances. And a Jack Adams award. He's gotten good results.
What has Fletcher shown in his nearly decade body of work in Minnesota that he can build a winner? - PLindbergh31
He did some good work in Vancouver. It’s not like he took over a tire fire in New York. They were a very good team when he got there which still had Torts fingerprints on it. I’m hoping he turns out to be a good coach for us I just never liked his teams and how they play. One thing is for sure he has a rat that can be amongst the best of them in konecny.
As for fletcher. It’s early but so far so good. I mean if there were some type of GM sim button it would most likely get to these results so far in his short tenure |

Yikes didn't know that. That punch he took from Orr was scary. |

What specifically don't you like about how teams under Vigneault play? What don't you like about the systems he normally employs. Can you elaborate on his systems?

The Kings were simply the better team. That roster was stacked. And Canucks - Bruins went to game 7 man. But hey hate all you want. - arichardson22

I never said anything about systems. He had many players that embellish and he whines all the time. I guess Giroux and ghost will be good for this Although we need a coach that gets into it with the refs more. He is about as mouthy as it gets. One thing is for sure with him and giroux we are about to become bar none the most disliked team around the league
Which actually thinking about that makes me excited......hmmmmm |

This just reinforces that you're making it up as you go along and really know very little about Vigneault as a coach. You basically said zilch about how his teams play. Systems aren't a big part of how his teams play? |

Guy is a proven coach, I like the hire. |

No disrespect to Vigneault, but this seems rushed to me. If he truly was their guy, so be it.
But do you guys remember after Hextall got fired, Holmgren and Scott said "the search will take weeks " and the A week went by and Fletcher was hired? This feels similar.
Fletcher and Vigneault have my support and I give them the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. I just feel they could have taken their time on the search. Again, if he was the guy the Flyers' wanted after Quenville (presumably) then I'm fine by the decision. |

Why is taking your time better? If you feel this is the guy, why wait? I seriously doubt that Fletcher just started exploring new coaches just this week. He's probably been studying and contemplating the decision for weeks if not months.

I did say if he's their guy, I'm ok with. But taking your time isn't the worst thing. Be nice to have stability behind the bench for more than a couple seasons. |

It doesn't feel similar to me. It seemed like they had settled on Fletcher before even firing Hextall. Who knows, if the whole Hakstol firing wasn't executed like a poopshow, maybe Fletcher would have landed on Vigneault back in December. |

Does he do anything drastically different system wise that many other teams are or aren’t doing? From what I’ve read and seen of his teams...no. Ill try and be open minded
You didn’t like the hextall firing or the direction change the franchise took in December. Do you like it now that Alain vignauelt is hired? |

I asked you previously to elaborate on Vigneualt's systems and how his teams play. Since you say he doesn't do anything differently, elaborate on those systems. The best you've done up until now is complain about how he handles young players because you read an article and that he whines and some nonsense about the Flyers being the most hated team in the league.
After you answer my question, I'll be glad to answer yours.

I actually like the hire.
However, no matter who the Flyers hired as coach mattered to me less than what Fletcher does with the roster this offseason. To me the players still need to be held accountable for getting Hextall fired. These guys have been through enough coaches. |

Hextall got himself fired by hanging on to Hakstol for too long. |

At first I didn't like the hire because i only had to go by what my ranger fan buddy has told me. But the more I read up on him the more I like him. I think AV sees the talent here and is looking forward to being a part of this team rise up.
And I hope he is all over everyone is they're lazy. These players need accountability and this sounds like a guy who can change that atmosphere. All we can do is wait and see |
|
|

Excited....AV is the perfect coach for this team right now. Respected veteran coach who’s been successful. He’s evolved over th3 years, hopefully he does well here. |

One possible reason not to take more time. AV is coaching Team Canada. He will be working closely with the TC GM Botterill who is also looking for a coach for the Sabres. There was a real chance AV would be gone if not signed now. |

Seems like you like the direction they’ve taken. All it took for you was for the GM to sit on his hands at the deadline and hire a coach at the top of the retread pile. |
