I think the low attendance could also be attributed to fans in this area having watched enough (bad) hockey with the Sabres.

They have killed interest in the sport in western ny.

Same with the world juniors last year.

I've seen enough hockey in person (personally) this year,, unless the amerks play a game downtown in buffalo

Sure, Duluth has been good lately...
but none of the teams were traditional powerhouses like BC or BU, or Minnesota, etc
And none of them were schools that ppl around here might care about-
like Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio St, etc

And these smaller schools just don’t have the traveling fan base like any of the above schools
Providence & U Mass are both fairly close,
but easily 2nd fiddle in New England compared to the Boston teams
Both from small-ish cities too
And Denver & Duluth are from quite a ways away, which doesn’t make for cheap or convenient travel


It was a perfect storm of why there was bad attendance

Well, this can all be called heresey and conjecture.

As far as the history lesson goes, what happened is well known.
But there is heresey and conjecture that suggests the Pegula's ordered the Kane trade, and also wanted ROR gone...they did not want to pay a guy $10m bonus after what he said and the rumors of locker room rifts.
Furthermore, hersey and conjecture has been submitted that they told botts to hire Phil, an ex-Sabre...after the embarrassing situation with Patty LaLaLand and Teddy Nolan 2.0
They have not brought in a president of Hockey Ops...an experienced, tried and true hockey mind to help guide 2 rookie GM's...one of which was a collosal failure, and the other now needing to save his career.

I did want botts, and thought housley would have improved in year 2, he didn't

the retreds did not want to come here

looks like taylor, martin or the swede unless someone gets canned

Football players are different then hockey players.
Seems like more tolerance for sure
