And a few more players that need to be signed

And they don’t have any big $$$ contracts that they could dump to create significant room

Assists create goals, and are just as important. It’s all fine and dandy that Jeff scored 40 but at the end of the day he finished with 3 more points then Nyquist and had the benefit of playing with Eichel.

Points are a result of goals. Nyquist had his hand in on 60 goals this year. Skinner had his hand in on 63. The right set up man and anyone can score goals. Pominville was going to score 30 if he played a full 82 with Eichel. So we are supposed to reward a winger who is useless if he isn’t scoring a full $3M more then Nyquist because he scores goals ? Mark stone is the best two way forward in the league and about a PPG player and Skinner is worth that type of money ?

I like Skinner, I just think anything more then $8M on the back nine of his career screams buyer beware unless the guy develops any play making ability or becomes a selkie candidate over night. Either that or he better score 60 instead of 40.

Let me put it another way too

Guys like Eichel & Wheeler are elite players that obviously set up a bunch of scoring opportunities that result in goals

Nyquist is NOT on that level- not even close to being a top playmaker

Skinner is one of the top goal scorers
And he did it at times without Eichel
And scored 40 even though he had a pretty bad slump at the end of the season

So unless u think he’s gonna take a significant step backwards...
yeah, he’s worth more than Nyquist
Nyquist could easily get 7mil per
I’ll pay the extra 2mil for a 40goal scorer if that’s what it takes
