Look at what MacKinnon, Marner, the Pacioretty-Stastny-Stone line are doing. That’s what I expected from an elite player like Stamkos.

Hoffman had a 70 point season and didn’t play even strength with Barkov and only had Trocheck for like 30 games this season. Kyle Connor finished with the same amount of points as Skinner and is 4 years younger. Debrincant almost finished with a PPG in year 2 or possibly 3 in the league and is only going to get better. We will be paying Skinner for what he’s going to do next year and beyond, not what he accomplished this past season with the best shooting percentage in his career.

Hoffman can actually set up goals as well, crazy right ? Connor is only getting better and by the time he is 26 he’ll be a PPG player. We are paying for the back nine of Skinner’s career. Unless he develops a selkie caliber defensive game or figures out how to be a play maker and rack up 35 assists to go along with his 40 goals he is not worth $9M. He is marginally better then E.Kane and Kane got 7x7
