Are you sure you want miller he had a pretty rough year for being on a stacked Tampa Bay team
- gerbe75pts

I want to see the forward ranks overhauled. It'll be interesting to see who they target.

yeah has nothing to do with the vezina goalie on the other team

whole team stunk, including the coach

it's not stamkos

it's stamkos, point, kuch, hedman, cooper, the goalie and about 15 other guys

- homiedclown

We could just say it was an epic fail that hasn't been seen before...run away Pres Trophy winner getting bounced in a Rd 1 sweep.
You have it correct, the whole team literally sucked ass and did have a response. Torts shut that bolt system down. It wasn't limited to one guy.

That said, I do agree with Gerby in that Stammer now has a reputation if folding like a cheap suit in the playoffs.

Lastly, the finesse team has wilted 2 seasons in a row when a physical team played playoff hockey.
Tampa is my 2nd favorite team, and I live here...let's just say the fans are very disappointed in the team getting owned by tougher teams who take it to them.

Is the captain not supposed to show up for elimination games ..
- gerbe75pts

Book mark this.
Recall it in 2 - 3 years.

I'm not convinced Jack shows-up when the lights are the brightest.
He has plenty of time to convince me, but I'll remain skeptical until he does.

hang on, let me pull that crystal ball out of your a$$ and get back to you

- homiedclown

Is that a crystal ball in your as$, or are you just happy to see me?

Kuch is the mvp of the nhl regular season

30 more points then stammer
That's equivalent to having an extra pommer (31 points) minus the incredible veteran leadership

Neither did anything in the playoffs

- Boss34

Boss, good lord.
I like Pommer too, but INCREDIBLE veteran leadership?
Where, how, to what effect.
The Team finished 31st and 27th in his two years here.
He was well like in the locker room, yes...but that isn't leadership.
The team absolutely playing abysmal hockey for 3-1/2 months could have used true leadership.

All I want to know is if jack choked like stamkos would you give a pass ..
- gerbe75pts

depends on how the series goes

there is a lot more to hockey then the back of the bubble gum card

in this series

1. the entire bolt team was soft
2. got destroyed on special teams, both ends
3, a former vezina winning goalie stoned them in a few games
4. got out coached
5. had many lapses on D

the scoring chances were there for the stamkos line

so on one hand, it's puck luck when things go wrong
on another hand, when 18 or 19 skaters under perform and they get out coached, in your world, pin it all on 1 guy

this was a total team failure

one day you will learn that on hockey

I suppose you think joe thornton sucks as well

Is it folded like a cheap suit?

Or

All over him - like a cheap suit
Mike robitaille's old quote?

Do cheap suits fold easier?

I think they fit tighter, thus the "all over you"

Thank you in advance

And I completely agree with your physical hockey point for the second year in a row.

I cant believe it doesn't bother other posters, that we are so incredibly soft and not build for the playoffs

Ion- that was a bit - sarcastic on my part

Hard to say if pommer is leading, all the players and coaches preach how his attitude and preparation is outstanding.

Probably not a vocal leader. Bad combo with a coach that chewed gum and was soft himself

Good post

Are we talking about the Sabres?

Soft
Bad special teams (our pk is decent)
Out goaltended
Out coached
Bad lapses on d

Aside from special teams, that's the 2018-19 sabres

Lol, there must be a better phrase.
Back in the day, I loved watching post game shows on Empire with Blessing and Robie...good stuff. I think they used to get fairly buzzed on that show.

Me too, obviously with respect to becoming a tougher team and many posters discounting it.
I think they believe we are speaking of having a bunch of Dave The Hammer Shultz's or Larry Playfair's...rather than injecting the team with players like Cbus's Anderson and the likes.

Imagine if you were a CBus fan and how pissed you would be right now. Just swept the President's Trophy winners. For who for what? That organization has no clue what they are doing. Isn't that right Flaccoville? Not us though. We got Botts. We got a good one. He got us Super Sniper Tage Thompson. We're all set.

Columbus hasn’t won anything yet. Sure won’t be winning anything either if half of their roster leaves in FA and they have absolutely no prospect pipeline or even any draft picks going forward. Columbus has to win the cup this year as they are going to go another 20 years without a playoff series win.

The putz is building us a cup contender. Not blowing all of our assets to get us to pick 8th like Murray did.

With your love affair over the months of Doug Armstrong how is he going to explain to the Blues contigent why he didn’t blow it up and rebuild, instead of going for it all when they are knocked out in the first or second round like they have been for the past decade ? I guess you’re a fan of early playoff exits though. Ill take the high pick in the hopes we can make to another Cup final and hopefully win that cup while ROR loses his love for the first round of the playoffs over the course of the next 5 years.

Caps have
Ovi, Oshie, Wilson, Orlov, Orpic who love a physical style game

Sabres have Risto once he plays Ovie or Kucherov, and then Bogo for about 25 games.
Notice Bogo didn't really stick his nose in once the 10 gamer was over.

Many experts predicted them to win the Metro this year. They did not have a good regular season and Bob was mediocre at best, maybe contract talks got the best of him. Adding Duchene and Dzingel has given that team though some remarkable depth and Bob is playing lights out. They are 12-2 in their last 14 games. Not your typical bottom seed.

Isn’t recency bias great?

The Blues added 4 top 9 forwards in the offseason, spent to the cap, with an aging roster, and finished third in their division. Yet they are talked about like they exceeded expectations because they were so terrible to start the season.
