Sooo....why did Tampa Bay have an absurdly good record using members of the "old guard?" Why didn't Columbus have a better record than them with all of their young guns?
-Jmattchett

I wouldnt consider Tampa the old guards. Kucherov, Point and Vas, Stamkos and Hedman are the biggest reasons why they have been as good as they were and I wouldnt consider any of them "old guard"

Also Columbus is about the same age ratio as well 25-30

Maybe the younger players don't care about the regular season? It's weird that 5 of the 8 lower seeds are winning and look way better than the regular season. And there's a decent chance 7 lower seeds could advance which would be insane. And most of these lower seeds have a significant grouping of "new" younger players.

Or that the teams who had to fight and claw to get in are continuing their momentum...happens every year.

That only matters if you let yourselves get lazy and develop bad habits. There are a bunch of teams that had their spots in the playoffs locked and havent just forgot how to play. It is no excuse. They have no one to blame but themselves.

Everyone Relax !!

EK did say more to come.....

🤔Maybe just maybe🤔 for once he will come through with his ‘more to come’ and give us some rationale.
Then again ...........

- DrunkFan

I'm going to blow your mind.

"More to come." doesn't mean and has never meant: "More about this exact same subject to come out as soon as I finish later on tonight, I just needed to get the preliminary thought down fast."

Instead, start thinking of it as a sign-off catchphrase meaning: "More new and different hockey stories and information to come in the next scheduled blog."

It's like D̶o̶n̶ ̶C̶h̶e̶r̶r̶y̶ Red Green used to sign off with "Keep your stick on the ice.", except most of the people watching weren't actively playing hockey, so it didn't make any sense until the next time they WERE playing hockey.

Boom, life changed, no more complaining about Ek not delivering "More to come."

No they can't.

Tampa might win one or two...
Pits is done.

Malkin and Kessel are gone this summer.

Caps looked pretty tired last night...better sort their poop out.

The Pens are toast. They might win game 4, but they're done.

I wouldn't count Tampa out until the final buzzer on the Blue Jacket's fourth win. Heck, I might even wait longer than that, just in case.

Ek is now re-programming the Buzztron to factor in age. But for several teams he accidentally inputs ages in dog years. Ironically this error actually leads to better predictive power than the current Buzztron.
