Lmao

Tampa, that’s what I call a choking situation.

Pens meh well didn’t think they would go anywhere anyway.

Tampa lmao I mean really swept? Lol ouch!

Does anyone in Tampa even realize they have a hockey team? Do they even care.

As an Islanders fan who goes to a lot of games in Tampa they have among the best and most loyal fan bases I’ve seen. The town is Lightning crazy. Banners and flags everywhere. A blue lightning bolt atop a city skyscraper. Great fan experience. They sellout every game although the crowds aren’t that loud for whatever reason. But they definitely have a great fan base

Epic choke by Tampa Bay. Even the 95/96 Red Wings who won 62 games won 10 playoff games before losing to the Avs in 6 games in the WCF. Where does Tampa go from here? They'll likely lick their wounds and come back with pretty much the same roster next season. Cal Foote will be on the team. Maybe they take a page from that 95/96 Red Wings team and take a step back in the regular season and then save their best for the playoffs.

Tampa getting swept takes the heat off the Pens a bit.

Initially, if someone told me the cbj would win against Tampa, it would in close fought games where every millimetre counts. Even as a Cbj fan , remove game 1 and 4, I was thoroughly shocked how they managed the Lightning's offence in game 2 and 3.

They told us Sid was still a shiny diamond 🤮 And Isles fourth line would be crushed in pit 😆 I have never seen a more impotent penis team playing at home.

Turns out Ek was right about the Pens. Problem is he's been saying that since day 1 of Hockey Buzz. Even during their Cup runs. But he's finally right about the Pens!

He had some valid points. But Murray and Fleury was sick good during those back to back cups. And Malkin and Sid did a great 2 way job. And Kessel Letang was fiter and better! But Russ and Mike has only watched their old baseball tapes this season, and not many pen hockey games.

Everyone said the Pens couldn't come back after playoff failures 2010-2014. Back to back cups says differently. We'll see.

No. But fans like seeing their teams as Rocky Balboa. Isles had the eye of the TIGER. Pens didn't.

Interesting that the key performances by NYI weren't kids, but actually the veterans.

-Goals by Eberle (age 28), Nelson (27), and Bailey (29).
-Assists by Mayfield (26), Bailey (29), Kuhnhackl (27), and Filppula (35).
-Oh and Barzal (21) had an assist so you got one.
-Penalty kill minutes led by Filppula (35), Komorov (32), Cizikas (28) and Clutterbuck (29)
-Hits were 11 by Matt Martin (29) and 6 by Komorov (32).
-Plus 2 for Leddy (28) who was 2nd on the team in ice-time
-Vezina performance by Lehner (27)

Barzal and Beauvillier are the only guys in the 21-23 age range. That's it. TWO. Pulock and Pelech are 24 so we can call that FOUR. But otherwise it's a well-constructed team full of guys in the 27-29 range, with a handful of vets in their 30's.
