I did notice that. There was a little physicality but didn't seem like guys were interested in giving anyone any extra shots. Canes/Caps has been the exact opposite. Everybody wants to punch everybody.

Holtby was still poop-talking Svechnikov to the media after the kid got knocked the (frank) out.

Yeah, I've missed it.

I won't lie, much as I want to see the Canes win, Trotz and the Isles vs the Caps would be a pretty sweet story.

Caps don’t play fair. You can look at how successful the pens have been over the years doing the same. You want to win you have to do what it takes. Caps literally targeted to injure our defenseman last we played them under Trotz. Trotz said it was a “good strategy”.😂

Either team the isles have to play (caps or canes) i love the isles chances. I have literally not seen an isles team dominate a powerhouse like the pens in my life. The pens couldn’t do ANYTHING. Ironically, like the isles coaches last year, the Pens had no answer to the isles tenacious forecheck.

I’ve said this all year......i hope the hockey gods give the isles a win in the second round to face the Leafs in the eastern finals. You couldn’t write a better story. It would be the ultimate...

It’s going to be loud anywhere they play. They’ll have home ice advantage whether it’s barclays or the coliseum. Listen, I would rather the coliseum so I can tail gate and hang also but I don’t see how it’s happening or how Lameriello is going to influence one way or the other. I doubt the guy is even trying😂

Pull back on the reins a little here.... the Penguins were not a powerhouse.

They had multiple streaks where they lost 4 or more in a row this year. The team was icing Jack Johnson and Erik Gudbranson with regular shifts for (frank)s sake.

Brind'amour says it looked worse than it actually was.

They wanna be careful with him, so he's out for game 4, but UNC hospital cleared him so as long as he doesn't develop any symptoms suddenly in practice he should probably be good to go for game 5.

In concussion protocol, but may not actually have a concussion is where they're at.

Agreed on Jack Johnson and Erik Gudbranson being weakness’. But, I’ll disagree and I’ll call a team with Crosby, Malkin, Kessel, Letang etc etc a powerhouse. The isles dominated Crosby and Malkin all series.....and I’d consider them one of the best 1-2 punches in the league. The isles weren’t scoring 5 goals a game on a weak defense. They were limiting a team with some of the best offensive talent to one goal a game. That’s shutting them down...that’s what won the series.

Ironically OV is left handed.....imagine if he was a fighter???? He’s a beast!!!!!

No one wants to see anyone get hurt. But Brind’amour needs to relax with the crap talk. Rookie or not his player dropped the gloves. That’s the risk you take...

Well, and that's the thing, Brind'amour seems to be saying that Svech didn't ask to go and is calling Ovechkin a liar.

Whether or not that's true is secondary, I think, Brindy's going to say whatever keeps his guys fired up because they absolutely obliterated the Caps after that fight.

As I said, Holtby was poop-talking the kid after the game. There's some real bad blood forming in this series.

I don't know the player very well, but I was rather surprised he dropped the gloves with Ovie. Ovie is BIG, like 6'3" 230 lbs. or something like that. Did Ovie say something about the kid's mother in Russian?

Yeah i mean who knows and who really cares who actually said “you wanna go”. Bottom line if the rookie won that fight it’s a non issue. Either way i love playoff hockey and the phucking islanders are in one...

Who are the Etc. Etc. in that statement, though?

You've got Sid, Geno, Kessel, Guentzel and Letang, but then you've got like a dozen players who are "okay" at best.

The depth of that roster stinks.

Listen you wanna call the pens an average team. So be it. Guentzel had 40 goals during the season and did d1ck in the post season. The isles have an average roster on paper but the coaching was far superior. The pens coaches couldn’t combat the tenacity of the isles. The isles stifled some of the best NHLers in the league to little or no points the ENTIRE series. That’s phucking HUGE

My buddy played for the caps and I’ve seen him at the team dinner (after the outdoor game a few years back). Every player on the caps was in full suit and dressed to the nines. OV was in a ripped t shirt. Ha

Yes exactly. Especially now that we’ve beaten them. Pre series it was all Pens in five tops six now they suck. Hockeybuzz where opinions and predictions are always subject to change and amendments.

If the Pens suck where exactly do the canes fall in that evaluation?
