It’s always better to get the other side’s perspective though, brings more credibility to a trade idea. - Nucker101
Enlighten me on their ideas. Thx |

The most successful teams lately are teams that are active with trades.
Mtl StL Car Cgy Ari Chi were the most active last summer
CBJ WpG VGK at TDL
I don't want to only use the draft to build. - VANTEL
Would you accept a change in management and bring in someone with a bit of skill at the negotiating table? Not saying remove JB, just some help. |

Didn't every one of those teams have Dougie Hamilton at one point? |

Considering the source, I’m a bit sceptical.
I 100% believe Sutter has value but “asked often” sounds like an outdated report, I could believe that last summer but not now.
Unless it’s a bunch of GM’s just seeing if they can get him cheap or for a similar Pearson-Gudbranson deal - Nucker101
TO use the selling method all the time . It works.
Even if a GM is trying to get him cheap if you are trying to get rid of him does it matter? I think JB probably will do something with him at TDL or the draft . I won't be surprised to see him here next year.

The draft is a slow & patient process that is only 1 of 3 ways to improve us. UFA’s are not usually the answer most often but is one way. Trades are always ongoing efforts but hard to pull off these days.
The UFA market is worth exploring if we get need filled & cannot afford less than that to happen.
Trades to move on from players & get new blood is ok but prefer picks in our case. |

Dougie Hamilton had 18 G 21 A 39 Pts this year . 64 Pts last year and the year before. I would gladly take that.

Would I ? Absolutely if they are better.
It sounds like Aquilini likes Jim and is currently working on bringing in a President. |

What if Beagle get injured next year? They really don't have anyone in the AHL ready to step in at center. |

The offseason will be the easiest & best time to move Sutter. I cannot understand how JB can say or think Sutter makes us a PO team. Starting with that means Gaudette has to go to Utica or 2-3 other players don’t belong here. - Nighthawk
I believe the TDL is best for selling role players. During the off-season everyone is heading into next season with healthy rosters, has free agency to fill holes, and there’s always hope for a training camp surprise to emerge so teams aren’t as desperate for a trade unless it’s for a star or under 30 legit top 6 F/Top 4D.
Look at us, no one here is advocating trades for 3rd liners or #5 dmen. |

You can find a free agent to fill in as 13th forward for a lot less than Sutter costs |

I wonder if the president has to approve of Jim to get the job, if FA wants a big name, I doubt they’ll take the job if they’re forced to stick with Jim for 2-3 years.
More likely that the president will agree to evaluate and work with Jim for a year and then get to decide. |

What part of I don't think the Canucks are in a position in the re-build to be making trades to fill holes, do you not understand? |

That is fine if you are trying for a top 10 draft pick.
If you want depth at all spots because you want to take a legit run at the playoffs you better have good depth. |

Where’s Prez? Banned? - bloatedmosquito
Nope, he was having a melt down and didn't like that I deleted a few controversial posts and asked him to settle down.
He sent me 5 PM's at 11-12 at night asking why I was so twisted, so after a few bottles of Rosso Grande I responded honestly and he has never returned, not banned, his choice to take his ball and go home. |

JB does not create a market for players very well. His assets that needed trading are not the best. |
