At least 25 years. And we as fans and media get way too excited about it. Every season it happens. I’ve seen whole pages in the Province dedicated to some castoff we’ve picked up. So desperate for a glimmer of hope.

I don't want to trade, I would rather continue to draft & develop in year 2 of the re-build.
I have proudly never posted a trade proposal.

So again, try f*cking off. Thanks.

Castoffs are hard to define. If a player is traded for then can they be considered a castoff.

Was Naslund a Pittsburgh castoff?

Was Ehrhoff a SJ castoff?

Or are castoffs only the ones you sign as FAs.

Requires trades then. Who for what?
- Nighthawk

Right now, there’s nothing. Maybe you could get a late pick for Hutton if you are moving on. JB needs to do a better job of signing guys who aren’t Gagner.

Ok thx for that. I agree our options are limited other than giving away players. Some are worthy of that to a degree.

I was going to say retarded but I've already had to ask someone to the picnic who I don't like as a result of doing that earlier today.

Good post. I ask those who rail on & on every player we get is a castoff. All i am saying is player movement is a fact & the result is entirely unknown. Some work out & most don’t for every team.

I'll just preface this by saying i have no problems with opposing viewpoints, it's what makes for interesting conversation and debate.

It is interesting though how much pride you take in not participating in some of the most common activities on this blog, and how you enjoy poopting on others for doing so. I get the appeal of trolling, but maybe don't jump in quite so often if you don't want to contribute at all.

I'm well aware that points aren't everything but we need RHD one way or another, I think he would be on any roster in the NHL.

I'm looking forward to seeing the division in Canucks fans when Hughes starts taking offensive risks that lead to goals against/games lost

- NorthNuck

If he was, why is he so bad on Buffalo?

I have already been chewed up by chompsey for criticizing Boesers defensive play, and criticizing Petterssons (stick boy) defensive play.

If Hughes plays poorly defensively I will criticize, I feel all players should be applauded and criticize, regardless of exalted status...sorry but that's just me.

I think we got some value in return for Bure. Those other teams didn’t get much for Nas and Ehrhoff.

Edit: who was the guy we gave SJ, White or something like that.

Totally fair, I freely criticize our players sometimes too, and I'm not saying you're doing this but you also can't outright refuse all trade proposals because the player you're recieving isn't perfect.

Are these activities pom-pom waving, cheerleading and hand crafting participation ribbons? So what if I "proudly" don't post trade proposals or retarded future line-ups?

And please don't tell me how to participate in an open forum.
