Would you accept a change in management and bring in someone with a bit of skill at the negotiating table? Not saying remove JB, just some help.

This is year 5. I think we need to curb our expectations.

What if Beagle get injured next year? They really don't have anyone in the AHL ready to step in at center.
- VANTEL

True but where does he play til that happens & who gets bounced to sidelines?
Chances are he goes down 1st.

What part of I don't think the Canucks are in a position in the re-build to be making trades to fill holes, do you not understand?
- Marwood

I understand that you feel that way. I don't, and my point was we have to shore up our RHD spots somehow. You could have simply said you think we should be drafting several RHD this draft and you'd prefer that to trading for one. I just think we need another top 4 RHD ASAP and we don't have any coming down the pipe right now

I wonder if the president has to approve of Jim to get the job, if FA wants a big name, I doubt they’ll take the job if they’re forced to stick with Jim for 2-3 years.

More likely that the president will agree to evaluate and work with Jim for a year and then get to decide.

- Nucker101

I don't know I haven't heard that . I heard Canucks were legitimately looking for someone to run the show.

That is fine if you are trying for a top 10 draft pick.

If you want depth at all spots because you want to take a legit run at the playoffs you better have good depth.

- VANTEL

Fair enough. So assuming JB is working hard to keep his job you think Sutter isn't going anywhere?

I believe the TDL is best for selling role players. During the off-season everyone is heading into next season with healthy rosters, has free agency to fill holes, and there’s always hope for a training camp surprise to emerge so teams aren’t as desperate for a trade unless it’s for a star or under 30 legit top 6 F/Top 4D.

Look at us, no one here is advocating trades for 3rd liners or #5 dmen.

- Nucker101

All very true. In the case of Buffalo they need changes for an entire season imo.
They should be motivated to juggke it up.

Well we’ve heard that he wants a big name. I just think it’s unlikely that a big name will agree to give Jim a long leash. That president will want the power to make the decision himself after evaluating Jim.

I do.

Who replaces Bo or Petey when they get injured?

Having Sutter there gives you a lot better chance than calling up a Kero

I don't think Jim has a long leash. I think he has a leash only.

Benning did some good things in the second half of the season with some trades and acquisitions.

Nope, he was having a melt down and didn't like that I deleted a few controversial posts and asked him to settle down.

He sent me 5 PM's at 11-12 at night asking why I was so twisted, so after a few bottles of Rosso Grande I responded honestly and he has never returned, not banned, his choice to take his ball and go home.

Geez, never took Prez as the sensitive type. Well, he doesn't post like someone who gives a poop.

He’s going into a lame duck season.
Not a good thing but the commitment towards him isn’t deserved yet. FA is on a wait & see how the next 4-6mths go imo.

Same, the nastiness between those 2 has been fantastic. That one and the Jets/Blues series have been the ones I've watched the closest.

The post I was responding to was about skills at the negotiating table, high school educated hockey players probably wouldn't last long face to face with a lawyer.

I didn't get to see any Tampa games because I don't have SN360, but the Isles/Pens was great as well. Loved watching Crosby and Malkin frustrated by some damn good coaching
