I agree, and i think JB will take a shot at him. No chance he comes to van but have to try
- NorthNuck

That’s right. We would find out if Vancouver is his lifestyle choice or not.

Checking the cap is beyond 1 season.
Yes i know we gotta pay for Brock soon & later on EP & Hughes but also many players won’t be here in 2-3-4yrs. Add to that the cap rises every year & who the core is will cost us yes but i’ve mashed numbers on many ideas & it’s very doable.

I constantly check the cap. Do you?
Nice guess though lol

It is roughly 30 million, using the Bettman numbers of 82 million in cap.
Using conservative numbers, Brock at 6 Edler at 6, Leivo, Schenn at 1 million, Hutton needs at least 3 to be qualified, Elias has ELC bonuses that could garner him about 2 million, Demko at 1 million.
Rafferty, Teves etc also need new contracts. That is just this season. You want to spend to the upper limit to get 1 player, no thanks, this is not the time for spending big on a free agent.

Also, until the team knows what is going on with Luongo, they best be making sure they leave enough space to cover.

Maybe next time, do some homework before spouting off.😁

Minivan suggested that yesterday and i asked him if he had suffered a recent blow to the head
- NorthNuck

I wonder the same thing about when people talk about draft placements. Confused by junior flash and forget the NHL game is different.

Other than Luongo the cap is not only about next season. In 3-4yrs i expect the cap to project to $90+m. 1/2 of your players mentioned won’t be here. Shortsighted stance you have chosen. Do deeper homework.

Now your turn to spout again...thx

What's wrong with taking short cuts?

In 2021 e-draft year we have only $18.3m committed to contracts. That is a long ways off & how we build & spend & progress is looking very rosey.

Is a Panarin signing a short cut or legit elite talent to add to our weakness on LW?

Not every big signing is a short cut but adding a key piece i rather call building.

Legit and we will probably compete for 5-6 of the 7 years with him

I put a lot of faith in the Canucks to keep drafting well & stock the system better. Getting good prospects & ELC control to make the pipeline a perpetual feeder is highest of priorities. Too often our top picks bypass Utica & that won’t always be the case. The void created hurts the farm. It shows we are still in a rebuild & 3-4yrs away minimum to get it all together.

Building isn't allowed. Trade everyone for picks and let JB draft but the rebuild has to be done in half the allotted time. Understand?

I agree. We need to turn the corner one day & that is maybe the 2020-21 year. 2021-22 is a must. JB is on a short leash & to survive he’s counting on it.

the big question is if TB gets swept , do they fire Cooper? and if so do we fire Green and hire him right away

It's pointless, when you are in the camp of spending to the cap when this team is still crap.
Different philosophies, I guess.

Fixating on a buzz word?
The gamble is if a Panarin is legit elite.
He is.

Do we lack scoring & top 6 wingers?
Yes

Do we have any in the system?
No

Can we draft & develop them?
Yes

How long will that take?
2-4yrs

All of the above reaks of patience which many fans claim to have but rarely show it. The question is when do we project is our time to be a perennial PO team & then contend? I’m saying 2020 is the goal & 2021 to be a certainty.

I never said spend to the cap.
How did you derive that from my posts?
