I mean, he's arguing hiding 3.2 mil in the minors which is a million times worse than buying him out, which I hate anyway

I'd rather buyout Shatty, Smith or Staal?

why do I want to acquire another player to buyout when I already have my own?

- jimbro83

would his cap hit be the same buried in the minors? like they do w/ balesky?

they'd be on the hook for just over 3 million in cap hit if they put Darling in the minors, along with the Beleskey cap hit, along with Girardi's dead 3.6 mil cap hit

You have to sacrifice one young Russian to him, like the Canes. Kravstov or Shestyorkin?

The Rangers would have to buy him out for me to love it. But if they did, sign me up. Again, you're thinking short term, I'm thinking logn term.

Nah, we have a cornhole load of picks, I'm sure they can figure out something reasonable. I could care less about maybe a late 2nd and an even later pick added. No reason to add space that could affect signing FA's

So let's say the deal would be something like....

CAR: Pionk and 6th

NYR: Darling, Fox and 3rd.

You'd say no?

this offseason has gone from people clamoring to draft Spencer Knight

to actually signing Shestyrokin

to now people suggesting we acquire Scott Darling

Yup. Its unnecessary to take on dead cap. You can always recoup picks

Again to trade for and then buy him out, his cap hit is less then a Shattenkirk

I understand what you want.. There is no need to add more dead cap. If you can give the pick and recoup that pick next year. You get the player and no dead cap. Its just so unnecessary

Easily say NO! Cap space is too valuable an asset to simply just give away...

They already give cap space away to Staal, Shattenkirk, Smith, Lundqvist and Girardi. Adding 1.2 million dollars doesn't really change much.

I remember when Jagr scored the goal that ended the season. In the post game he said he wasn’t sure if he should celebrate.
